U.S. vaccine advisers are weighing whether boys and young men should be vaccinated against the human wart virus that causes a number of cancers, but some worry the vaccine is too costly to justify its use. Some men would also benefit from the vaccine, including homosexuals and bisexuals, who are at risk of developing anal cancers and other conditions caused by the human papillomavirus, or HPV, the experts said.

After spending months researching the gardasil vaccine for a college paper I determined I won't allow my daughter to get it and the same goes for my son. There are too many dangers, risks, and unknown long term effects to expose them.
ReplyDeleteToo costly?? What about the man who cheated on me and ultimately cost me my ability to have children? What cost do they put on that? I had my opportunity to have children taken away because of his unfaithfulness. Not to mention, this virus can be a deadly one. It's not the men who would benefit the most. I didn't have a choice in this matter. If I chose not to have children, then that should be my decision. Not some stupid expert who decides that the vaccine that it would cost too much.
ReplyDeleteThis vaccine, like the flu vaccine, is being pushed for profits. Just like other diseases, having females get the vaccine (which I agree with voluntary administration) creates biological walls that keep the disease from spreading to a majority of the population. Blanket vaccinations are not needed.
ReplyDelete904 How sad. What a pig.
ReplyDeleteHow about parents teaching them self respect and celibacy.
ReplyDeleteThe Spv virus is bad in the metro core, that's a fact.Awareness, treatment and prevention is key...
ReplyDeleteI'm with 9:04. A friend of mine's scuzzy ex cheated on her and "shared the love." Now she needs to be closely monitored because this virus leads to cervical cancer.
ReplyDeleteYou almost have to make your spouse wear a condom now days. Although you can still get HPV even with one.
ReplyDelete11:48 I am so sorry to hear about your friend. I hope she is going to be okay. This really sucks being in this position. I'm praying for her. Signed 9:04. P.S. If you are a woman, no matter what please make sure you get your yearly exam. There are no signs or symptoms. The only way to detect it is a regular PAP smear. If I had not, I may not be here. It is the most sexually transmitted disease in the country. The only time you hear about it is when the vaccine issue comes up. It also has been mentioned that Michael Douglas' throat cancer was caused by HPV. There are pros and cons to everything. I wish now that I had the opportunity to get vaccinated.
