In an article today, the Daily Times discusses the four candidates for the 2 "At-Large" seats on the Wicomico County Council, namely:
Republicans – Bob Culver and Matt Holloway
Democrats – David Cowall and Edward Taylor
The article states that both Republican candidates favor keeping the County’s tax revenue cap and preserving farmers’ rights against confiscation by "downzoning". But there is no mention of the position of either of the Democrats on those major issues in this year’s election.
In fact, both Cowall and Taylor have stated in public that they favor change or outright repeal of the tax cap! Did the Daily Times fail to ask them about that or farmers’ rights, or did it decide not to report their views?
I believe David Cowall's position involves replacing the revenue cap with a rate cap - not outright repeal of the revenue cap...as a method to continue fiscal responsibility.
