ReplyDeleteThis image is really touching, because most of us that are older or old, remember to well churchs that used to look like this. They were humble places with humble people trying to do what God intended for them to do in this life. It was a place in time, that I never realized would be gone so soon and certainly didn't realize the value of it at that time. Many Americans have lived their lives with the values that they learned in a building like this and many have died for the same. It's a really good image and a sad one too, all in one breath.

ReplyDeleteStained glass in the windows of a church like this equates to a 911 Porsche sitting in the driveway of a house trailer. The word austere is a fitting description for this church.

ReplyDelete1052 not true. There are several little churches on the eastern shore with stained glass windows. A church is never too tiny to be beautiful.
