BREAKING NEWS: Delmar FD Called To Delmar Elementary

Fire Crews from DFD were sent to Delmar Elementary as there is confirmation of heavy smoke. Salisbury News has also learned, (at the moment) there are two children unaccounted for. More to come.....

Please update your post about Delmar Elementary to reflect the following information: There is no fire at Delmar Elementary. Maintenance workers accidentally set off a fire alarm and the fire department responded. All students at the school are accounted for.

Salisbury News continues to stand by our original Post. My Grandson, (who just arrived home almost 30 minutes late) was told by his Teacher it was a drill. Yeah, OK, they ran a drill at 2:45 PM, I don't think so. I have sources who state that there was smoke when the DFD arrived and a maintenance worker set off some insulation while doing some maintenance. We'll keep researching this but the person from the BOE who sent me the above message doesn't seem to want to reply to my reply. Hmmmmmm?

  1. One of the teachers said it was an air conditioner that caught on fire.

  2. Sounds like WCBOE- lie when it suits them, regardless of the safety of the children or the rights of the parents to know the extent of which their children may have been in danger. This sort of thing happens so often with WCBOE.

  3. My kids also got home 30 minutes late & here was their story....
It was "a real fire"!!! This coming from a 2nd grader... In one of the 4th grade classrooms a man was fixing the air conditioner & he sprayed something he wasn't supposed to & then it started sparking". This was at the end of the day when the teachers were handing out the final papers for the week to the kids. The kids were evacuated & had to wait outside for a while before being allowed to go back in & get their stuff. Kids say there were 2 firetrucks & 1 ambulance there.

My children did not seem to be scared or terribly concerned about the event & it seems that it was handled by the school properly --despite it occuring at the worst possible moment--dismissal time on a Friday.

Although, I do feel that they could be using the automated calling service to let us know that everything was ok.

  5. My child said the cops were there, firetrucks were there, and ambulances were there. That's all the kids know. Can't wait to hear what the school sends home about this next week.

A plane flew into the Pentagon on Sept 11, 2001. While there is no plane debris, wreckage, luggage, dead bodies, engines or other evidence a plane hit the Pentagon . . . it is a fact that a plane flew into the Pentagon.

Were you at the Pentagon? Because I WAS. And there actually was debris, wreckage, and dead bodies. You could also smell them. That's right. Smell them. So there is no need for you run your mouth and make false statements about an awful terrorist act and attempt to somehow compare that to an electrical fire. Now I will never get this 60 seconds of my life back from typing this to you...thanks a lot.
