ANNAPOLIS – President Obama headlined a political rally today at Bowie State University in order to help the campaign of Gov. Martin O’Malley. AFP-Maryland issues the following statement on the President’s visit:
“While Marylanders have tightened their belts during this recession, the President and the Governor have continued to push a flawed fiscal philosophy: higher taxes, more government spending, and budget deficits as far as the eye can see. They believe that government spending creates prosperity, not individual ingenuity. With our state and country suffering massive unemployment, now is the time for a shift in policy. AFP-Maryland advocates lowering taxes, balancing the budget without gimmicks, and loosening the regulatory environment so that businesses will want to create jobs in Maryland again.”
