UPDATE: ARREST MADE IN HOME INVASION ONE OTHER STILL BEING SOUGHT

Lewes-Delaware State Police Thursday September 16, 2010 made an arrest in the Lewes area home invasion which occurred on Whitehaven Way Sussex West Mobile Home Park.

Delaware State Police through the course of their investigation learned that one of the victims, 36 year old Christopher DiDio was involved in the home invasion. Delaware State Police learned that the initial events of this crime were true. The victim’s residence was forcibly entered by an Asian male. Christopher DiDio and a 53 year old woman were duct taped by the Asian suspect.

State Police detectives however on Thursday September 16, 2010 learned that the 53 year old woman was duct taped around her eyes and placed into another room at the residence. Next the Asian suspect who has been identified as Michael Yang-26 of New York confronted Christopher DiDio and then removed his mask. DiDio immediately recognized Yang from when they were cell mates in a New York State prison. DiDio is currently on parole from New York State for an armed robbery. Yang is alleged to have offered to split whatever money DiDio obtained from the ATM and pawn transactions.

As a result of the updated information obtained by detectives Christopher DiDio was arrested for Kidnapping First Degree, Robbery First Degree and Conspiracy Second Degree. Christopher DiDio is being held at Sussex Correctional Institute on $35,000 cash bond. Arrest warrants have also been obtained for Michael Yang consisting on the same aforementioned crimes. The whereabouts of Michael Yang are currently unknown; however Delaware State Police are working with New York authorities after obtaining information that he may have headed back to Queens New York. I do not have a type of vehicle Yang maybe driving.

Michael Yang is considered armed and dangerous. Delaware State Police is asking citizens to contact authorities if Michael Yang is seen. Callers may remain anonymous.
