Today I have received an unbelievable amount of Press Releases by numerous candidates. Clearly you haven't seen any published because quite frankly it ticks me off.
Look people, you're NOT running for President of the United States and I don't want to hear your personal sob stories about how this affected Americans. I lost a Cousin in the Twin Towers and if anyone here has anything to say about how sad 9-11 was, it would start with me.
However, getting one e-mail after the other telling me how this date changed America forever, give it a rest. We're fighting a war in Iraq we shouldn't be. There never were any weapons of mass destruction and if ANYONE had the whole thing right it would have been Bin Laden when he stated he could fly planes into the Twin Towers and IF he ever did so it would crush the American economy for good. Guess what, Bin Laden was right, period, end of story.
How America could let this happen is beyond me. How our Government could allow two planes to hit the Twin Towers and then the Pentagon, (of all places) is an embarrassment to ALL Americans. You may not like hearing what I'm saying but quite frankly its not only the truth, it hurts each and every one of us.
We pay heavy duty taxes in this Country, money that is supposed to protect us from such tragedies. I don't care who's watch it was on, democrat/republican. Americans died, period. Americans are still dying.
I don't want any stinking letter from some wanna-be politician who thinks they should be the ones gaining the most attention on this day. BITE ME! My honor goes to the people we lost in New York and Washington, D.C.. I'm talking about innocent people, Firefighters, Police Officers, Airline Crews, our Soldiers around the World. You don't see these politicians talking about them. They want to make this about them and I'm not letting it fly.
If you want to CELEBRATE 9-11, take a moment of silence, (on your own or with your family & friends) and truly honor the people who lost their lives that day and to those who truly protect us today. Not from local fires or criminals. In my opinion, there is NOTHING to celebrate about 9-11. There should be no special Holiday. It was an embarrassing day for America. Our Country FAILED us that day, not once, not twice but THREE TIMES! Lord knows I'm not forgetting those HERO'S who also went down in that plane in PA. and that would be FOUR times in one day.
I have an Uncle who retired from the Pentagon after 36 years as an Officer of the Secretary of Defense. 36 years Folks! Let me assure you of one thing right here and now. What happened that day should have been absolutely impossible. Criticize me all you like but until you have a Family Member who served 36 years in the Pentagon in the position my Uncle held, you have no room to criticize what I'm telling you.
As for the politicians running for office who want their voices heard on this day, take it somewhere else. This Family lost one person in this event and another person who spent far too many years making sure you and I were protected from such a thing ever happening. We have Family Members serving in our Armed Forces and many more who have since retired from protecting those candidates who think today should be their day to tell us how they feel.
None of us living today will ever forget 9-11. We do not need a special day or a holiday to remember this horrific and tragic day in our history. The ONLY people we should be hearing from are the survivors of that tragic day and not local politicians running for office.
Thanks for letting me vent Folks.
Well said, Joe. Let us not forget, also, the people who died in Somerset County, Pennsylvania.
ReplyDeleteJoe, You have the right to vent. I agree with you 100%. The USA let its people down and they are still being led down the path to HELL. All the politicans are to blame PERIOD!
ReplyDeleteA reminder.... NO CURSING! While I can appreciate your frustration, please refrain from curse words or abbreviated words. Thank You.
ReplyDeleteHmmmmm, I agree with you Joe on this one!
ReplyDeleteI just want everybody to remember how they felt that day, and to think we have a President who want's a Mosque build on that site. "The Great Mosque" to commemorate their victory over the Christians.
ReplyDeleteThis would be yet another day of infamy. Just as with Pearl Harbor on December 7th, we should have been protected from it - the gov't knew both it and an attack by radical Islam were going to happen and failed to act accordingly. Our government failed us, and we'll remember that.
ReplyDeleteMuch like you will tell people to click the x in the upper right corner if they don't like your site, if you don't like this country then move out. Period. You live for criticizing government and tearing people down. You would have respect if you led by example, but that's not going to happen. Keep hiding behind that keyboard...that's where you belong.
ReplyDeleteIt's 64 degrees and raining this beautiful morning. Ahhh , it's great to wake up in the morning as I've done for 67 years.
ReplyDeleteThank you Joe , 1/38th infantry , 2nd division , recon.
ReplyDeleteNo comment updates must still be sleeping it off
ReplyDeleteJoe-
ReplyDeleteNo cursing? What curse? In the context of the post, Hell is used as a noun, that is a place which the poster feels exists. As in Heaven and Hell. If one chooses not to beleive in the existence of Heaven or Hell, then the admission of the word might be considered offensive.
In this context, it is this this person's opinion that politicians were leading us to this place known as hell, and by every account, it is not a nice place to be. He could as well be saying Detroit, which also exists, and from experience, I can assure you it's not a nice place. Now, if you consider the curse word to be say, politician, then that is understandable, my mistake!
I only bring this to your attention because people in the community look to you to provide well thought out opinion on matterrs which can sometimes be very complicated. Hooray, by the way, for the common man to have such a big voice in the community...good work, Albero.

UH!! Pot, aren't you calling the Kettle black?
What I can't stand are the wannabe FARMIN who think the only people worthy of being memorialized is their FDNY idol's. I can't sand seeing 343 plastered all over their cars and their FB pages. There were police officers from numerous agencies that died. There were EMT's and Paramedics who died. And guess what there were 3000 innocent civilians who lost their lives.
ReplyDeleteGood article Joe!
ReplyDeleteOur government either "let us down" or perpetuated a crime against us. My guess is the last point is acurate.
I resent politicians who use it as a rally cry.Anyone who questions any detail about it is scorned. It is still a very touchy subject 9 yrs later.
ReplyDeleteJoe,
ReplyDeleteI don't normaly agree with you -- but today is a first. Thanks for you thoughts -- you are "spot on".
