State Police Investigating Attempted Abduction Laurel

Suspect(s):
White male, 18-32 YOA 5’05” to 6’00”, 140-180 lbs, short black hair, clean shaven, thin build, armed with a black handgun

Suspect Vehicle:
Small newer light Red 4 door car with dark colored interior

Laurel-Wednesday September 15, 2010 Delaware State Police investigated an attempted abduction on the 13000 block of Wooten Road Laurel Delaware.

The incident occurred on Tuesday morning September 14, 2010 at approximately 7:45 a.m. The 8 year old child who attends North Laurel Elementary School made the school aware of the incident. The incident was originally handled by Laurel Police Department however it was discovered that it did not occur in their jurisdiction. On Wednesday September 15, 2010 Delaware State Police was contacted regarding the attempted abduction.

Delaware State Police learned that the 8 year old victim Tuesday September 14, 2010 was waiting for his school bus while in his driveway. The victim then observed a newer light red 4 door car pull into his driveway. The white male suspect described above attempted to lure the child into the car. The suspect offered to provide the 8 year old a ride to school. The 8 year old repeatedly refused the suspect’s demands to enter the car.

Following the refusals the suspect then exited his car and a black handgun fell on the ground outside the driver’s door. The suspect is believed to have been alone in his car. The 8 year old child then ran inside his residence and notified his mother. The suspect fled the area in an unknown direction of travel.
