It is nice to see you back Joe. The show was very informative and you are correct, we never heard about crime at this level before SBYNews came along. Keep up the great work.
One thing Joe said was that the "news paper" is starting to put crime incidents in, however I have noticed that a good bit of it is from across the Bay....I don't want to seem ignorant, but I don't care about Montgomery or Frederick Counties I want to know what is going on around the peninsula. That is where I live and raise my children. I am a "come here from Boston 30yrs. ago. However all my children were born at PRMC and I prefer they and my grandchildren live in thier hometown be a safer place to live.
I would like to take this a step further. What was the population of Salisbury in 1984 and what is the population now. You mentioned growth , I believe we have had many businesses move from Salisbury or gone under. We need to look at the crimes that may be related to ethnic groups compared to other groups. We need to look at the transfer of inmates upon release to Salisbury. We have tap danced around this problem for over 25 years. It appears to me that during the 25 years the police have been restricted in the way they can perform their duty , thus encouraging the criminals to repeat . Since the Rodney King incident , we are not allowed certain arrest procedure , not that I encourage beating a civilian , however some do need a good beating. The ones that sell your kids dope , the ones that that molest your children etc. etc.. I'm not a fan of the Salisbury media , and I do thank you for this exposure , I'm not sure , but I don't think the population is too much different . It would be interesting to know. In closing , I would like to have seen many comments. Mmmm makes you wonder what people care about.
The population of Salisbury has changed radically over the past 25 years. We now have a huge group of transients (people here for a year or less at a time) and a huge industry that provides their housing, an industry that has proven time and time again that it will stop at nothing to protect its interests, even if it means more crime.
What a great commentary about our local problem.
ReplyDeleteYou can bet your bottom dollar that if it had not been for SBYnews the MSM still would not be reporting the blow-out crime statistics.
Nice to see your special presentation. It could not have come at a more opportune time.

ReplyDeleteThis is why I just keep coming back to this news agency - it is the real deal.
ReplyDeleteJoe - I have got to tip my hat to you on this special commentary.
You have hit the 'nail squarely on the head' with this news special. You have really driven your point home.
Ditto 7:30
