Jesse James. Funny.
ReplyDeleteIf it was a horse, there'd be a hangin'.
He has a lot of charges in the past, and a lot of Nol Pros'( CDS Possession, Theft....). Must be one of the "special" Mason's from Pocomoke City. Watch what happens this time.
ReplyDeleteNo Pros is the name of the game in our justice system no matter what your last name is!
ReplyDeleteI hope this man rots in hell!!! Before that, I hope someone makes him their pretty little girlfriend in jail for a very long time!! Heard that their was a group of many of the victims & suspects friends at the scene and watched the whole thing unfold!
ReplyDelete1:03 Gotta a problem with the Mason's ?
ReplyDeleteHis friend gave his life trying to prevent him from driving intoxicated? Wow.
ReplyDeleteThe worst the driver could have done was to wreck and kill a person. This poor guy died trying to prevent someone he did not know or did know for sure would die.
Sometimes folks it is best to just give up. Don't hang onto the window until your friend kills you.
How sad.
How about calling the police to have him arrested? No one drives away from my house drunk period. I would call the police on my mother if she was acting like an idiot trying to drink and drive.
ReplyDeleteReally sad someone lost his/her life trying to save the lives and livelihood of someone else.
Such a tragedy!!! The young man was trying to do the right thing and stop his friend from drinking and driving and was killed in the process. I truly hope that this Mason kid is prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. I also hope that this will give the Pocomoke City police the impetus to begin cracking down on these kids at the Hardees parking lot. Many young adults in Pocomoke use that parking lot as a place to socialize and drink in their cars. The cops have to be aware this is going on but, all they do is disperse the kids, only for them to drive away (probably drunk) for a few minutes and then return. I hope that Watching in Pocomoke is wrong about the outcome of this situation.
ReplyDeleteMaybe the police should also have more of a presence in that area. Its no secret that the "Hardees parking lot" as it is referred to,is teeming with young drunken kids on weekends sitting around in their pickup trucks or cars-i dont even live there and even I know that.God bless the victims family during all this.

That is the point of 12:20 PM's question wondering if he is related to Chris Mason who is an associat of Paul Wilbur at the firm. There aren't many Mason's in Pocomoke and I wonder what the relationship is? I used to like Chris Mason until his association with Paul Wilbur and Skip Cornbrooks raping the taxpayers of millions of dollars.
Webb, Burnett, Cornbrooks, Wilber, Vorhis, Douse & Mason, LLP
this is such a sad story, so many lives involved here, not just those of the victum. jesse recently was married and has a beautiful little girl. i know that it is only natural to take the side of the victim. i don't know jesse well but i do know that he has been working to redirect his life and has been attending church on a regular basis. i've admired his hard work and dedication. what happened here is sad. i don't claim to know what the circumstances were but i do not think Jesse would never hurt anyone intentionally and it is just horrible that this freak accident has happened. my prayers go out to all the people involved, God bless this young man who died trying to help someone elce, but i also am praying for jesse and his family because they are hurting too. the lesson here is please drink responsibly and don't drink and drive.
ReplyDeleteWhat he did was dispicable and indefendable but all those redundant charges?
ReplyDeleteWhat a crock!
One crime, one charge!
Mason better not get off easy on this one or he better watch his back. Hunter was a good guy that would give you the shirt off his back if you needed one.
ReplyDeleteR.I.P. Hunter
i hope jesse sit in jail for the rest of his life he is nothing but a mess up any way always has ben.
ReplyDeletewhats sad, is the ignorant comments on this article, a very young man lost his life, trying to do his "friend" right.
ReplyDeletenot a time for jokes. I hope the family is doing okay.
I know Jessy and his family, not that everything is understandable right this minute, i no in my heart that jessy wouldn't hurt anyone. No one is perfect we all make mistakes and I feel so badly for everyone involved. Its horrible yes... jessy is beating himself up more than anyone else coulds, believe that.
ReplyDeleteMy children went to school with Jesse Mason and Hunter Stonnell, the 21 year old victim from Westover. We attended church with the Stonnell family for 7 years, while we lived in Pocomoke. Hunter was a great guy and certainly loved by his mother, Belinda, fater, Butch and sister, Heather.
ReplyDeleteHunter went on missions trips with our church to Mexico and fed homeless, poor children and families. He was also an amazing drummer!
I really wish Jesse had thought about the consequences before he decided to do that.
Hardee's parking lot is a breeding ground for underage drinking and driving like maniacs.
Below is the link for the funeral home and the funeral service to be held for Hunter Stonnell....Rest, dear friend, you will be sadly missed.

I would just like to say to all the people who don't know the kids who hangout in the parking lot don't judge us you don't know us if someone could have done something we would have and our friend would not be dead. The parking lot is somewhere we socialize not somewhere we drink you ask anyone but there what we do and they will tell you the same so I think I speak for all of us as to say mind your own
ReplyDeleteI am a teen I hangout in the parking lot and there is no drinking its somewhere we go to socialize. Don't judge us you don't know us if there was something we could have done our friend would not be dead have some respect for us instead of pointing fingers and saying things you know nothing about.
ReplyDeleteI'm trying as hard as I can to keep it together and be strong, but a few of these comments made me absolutely SICK. First of all, it wasn't a large group of our friends around when it happened. And even if there was, what's your point? Are you trying to imply that we didn't do enough to save Hunter? Do you honestly think we wouldn't have done ANYTHING in our power to change the outcome? It happened too fast. There was nothing we could've done to stop this. We have to live with this and what we had to see for the rest of our lives. Luckily, only about 10 of Hunters closest friends had to witness this happen or the immediate after math. Inlcuding me. You will never EVER know what some of us are going through, and I wouldn't even wish for you to experience it, despite your obvious ignorance. These past few days have been absolutely HORRIFYING. So pardon me for being rude, keep your opinions to yourselves if you know NOTHING about the situation. Those friends you're trashing are actually good people who loved Hunter more than anything in the world, and would give their own lives just to get his back. We do hang out in that parking lot. Almost every night of life. And we aren't bothering ANYONE and we DEFINITELY aren't all sitting there drinking in our trucks and cars. And there's nothing we can do if there are other people that do come up there after drinking. This is a prime example. Jesse is NEVER in that parking lot. Ever. And he's the one that caused all this horrible attention. HE had been drinking. Hunter gave his life to try and save another. That's NOTHING but honorable. HOW DARE YOU make jokes. And once again, excuse me for being rude, Jesse wouldn't hurt anyone? HE DIDN'T EVEN STOP! He left him there. And that's not just me being bitter towards Jesse, that's the truth. Jesse does have family and friends as well, and I am sorry for them and they're also in my prayers. But Jesse as a human being is not nor will he ever be. There's nothing anyone could ever say to justify this. Not even him. Basically, my point behind this entire comment, is simply just HAVE SOME RESPECT. We, Hunter's friends and family, don't need this. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteTHANK YOU. Finally someone who understands what we're going through. I'm at the parking lot every night as well, and although I wasn't there when Jesse threw my VERY dear friend, Hunter from his truck.. I was there as soon as the ambulance arrived. Seeing one of my friends in that condition tore me apart and I don't care who you are Jesse Mason, how could any human being just leave a man laying in his own pool of blood when IT WAS YOU who cause it? The saddest part of all this is that Jesse and Hunter were FAMILY.. It just hurts so bad, so give us some justice and STOP all the jokes and ignorance, that's the last thing we need when our hearts are already torn into pieces. Have some decency people.
ReplyDeleteKeep Hunter in your hearts, you will be missed my man.
I don't understand why WBOC or WMDT won't cover this story....really sad. They should be proactive in getting the word out on drinking and being responsible.
ReplyDeleteAs I read through the comments, I thought "you without sin cast the first stone". My kids grew up with Hunter and knew Jesse. So I know Hunter pretty well but I did not know Jesse that well. How can you that know nothing be so quick to pass judgment on Jesse.
ReplyDeleteJesse is a good kid that was just misguided in his decisions...why he wasn't at home with his wife and child that night only he will know...I'm sure having not even been there that Jesse did NOT mean to kill his friend...we never think clearly when we are intoxicated and you can't argue with a drunk! and I do beleive that other local stations should cover this story for the underlining tragedy here is so much for all of us to learn when we decide to go out drinking...god bless Hunter and Jesse....for both families will forever be changed over this!!!
ReplyDeleteto the 12;20 commentor ; will you please tell me what is funny about the Stonnel family losing their only son & brother or the mason family losing their son too? I see nothing "funny" about any of this. You apparently have been blessed to never have lost a family member in a tragic way by your assanine comment! I lost my only brother 15 years ago to a drunk driver & believe me when I tell you there is nothing funny about it! My Mom & Dad lost their only son; my sisters & I lost not only our brother but a part of our Mom & Dad we never got back. So the next time you post a comment about something please make sure you know what you're talking about ; as you obviously didn't this time! As for the comments about "special & good " Masons in Pocomoke ; I've lived here 35 years & I wish you would tell me what I've missed all those years; who are they? if this should go to court it has nothing to do with your last name ; it has everything to do with the jury & whether "1" juror who "drinks & drives " and thinks they are O.K. to do so !!!
ReplyDeleteI really feel bad for all of the people involved. It's a sad situation all around. He is out on bond, so maybe he will have time to think about what he has done and spend as much time with his daughter as he can. It's going to be a rough road for Mr. Mason.
ReplyDelete3:51, as far as "who are the special and good Mason's?" They are probably talking about the Mason's that owned the property wehre Walmart is now located.
first of all, let me say, rip hunter. hunter was such a great guy, he was loving caring and an amazing friend. he was talented an also very smart, so anyone critcizing what he did trying to stop a guy from driving drunk, it was out of the goodness of his heart an u should be ashamed to dog a guy who has lost his life.
ReplyDeletealso jesse may not have intentionally done this, but it happened all the same, an i hope he spends the rest of his life in jail. he is the one who SPED off with someone on the side of his truck. he is 100% in the wrong here.
an lastly, the comments about the hardee's parking lot is obviously not made by ppl who know ANYTHING. cause we actually hang in the tractor suppy parking lot an the dunkin donuts parking lots an we call it the "p lot". no one drinks, its not a place where we all sit an get drunk. trust me there are enough cops up there, they come up there tell us to pick up trash make sure no one is drinking or doing anything wrong an go along thier way. an the way i see it; atleast we are not on the streets dealing drugs, breaking into houses etc. we are a bunch of good kids that socialize an unite. My best memories of Hunter are in the "plot" an i do not regret one moment spent there.
so all of you that are dogging us need to move on with ur lives. we all loved hunter, i dont know of anyone who disliked him. all of us who came up on the aftermath are upset an no one could possibly understand what we are going through so its best if you guys just keep ur noses out of it.
rip hunter! we love u an miss u! an god bless the family! <3
I am an adult and I probably know most of these kids posting. I certainly knew Hunter. My wife has been crying her eyes out since Friday night. He, and most of these kids, are like family to us. These good kids do not need to drink at this parking lot. They are not these kind of individuals. They are good kids that just like to have a place to meet. My son hangs there to meet with his buds and I know for a fact that he does not drink there. I have property and he and his friends can have bonfires and party til their hearts content and NOBODY leaves once they are there. I have a big house with lots of room and plenty of room for everybody.
ReplyDeleteHunter was like a son to us. Many of these kids are. They come and go as they please. Nobody knocks on our door. We feed them, give them a place to sleep. Sometimes it seems like they have moved in. These are good kids. They are not stupid like you and I were when we were young. They know what goes on in the world around them and you should give them some damn credit. Stop accusing your children of being stupid, when YOU are the ones guilty of not bringing them up correctly with the discipline they so desperately need.
THANK YOU groundrush. Thank you so much. I really appreciate you taking up for us. We love you Hunter Lee Stonnell! Always. Rest In Paradise, our angel. <3
ReplyDeleteFirst of all Groundrush..way to advertise that you allow kids to party at your house. I now know where to tell my kids to go when then want to take part in some underage drinking. I happen to live in Pocomoke and have raised two children, both of which openly admit that kids sit in that parking lot and drink (in addition to other things). I am sure not all kids hang out there and drink but, many do. Parents in Pocomoke need to get their heads out of their butts. Teenagers in this town are doing things that would blow your minds and everyone is just too blind to see it. Parents in this town walk around with this "not my kid" attitude. To those that have posted that you should not talk about things you don't understand, I do understand and am very aware of what goes on in Pocomoke. If you are not one of those kids that partake in that behavior good for you, if not the cops need to address the situation. To the family and friends of Hunter Stonnel, my deepest sympathies. I am sure that nobody is blaming Hunter's friends for the outcome of this situation. I think the point many are trying to make is that Pocomoke City police should have a stronger prescence in the area and let the kids that are just socializing have their fun and be more proactive with the kids that are doing unlawful things.
ReplyDeleteThe "kids" that your children are referring to most likely aren't kids at all. They're spoiled rotten adults who have a mommy and daddy with deep pockets to bail them out of everything. Therefore that means absolutely nothing. Bottom line is, the parking lot had NOTHING to do with this so why it's even being talked about still, I don't know.
ReplyDeleteAnd there's nothing wrong with what groundrush said. If a kid wants to drink, a kid will drink. No matter what you say or do to try and stop it. Would you rather have your child out on the streets drinking and driving and risk something like this happening to your family, or would you rather them have a safe place to go and stay out of trouble? We all know you'd rather them not drink at all, etc. But this is real life we're talking about. Sometimes you have to just realize that even your children are individuals with their own mind and their own way of learning. Think outside the box and give them some credit.
My brother was one of hunters best friends. It saddens me that this treagedy even had to occur. My brother and his friends are responsible young adults and have never been ones to cause any trouble. And I can be one of those people that says not my brother because he was raised right and his friends are the same way. Our house is the place where they can all hang out and not have to be running the streets getting into trouble. If you want to say that your kids openly admit to being up in the parking lot where kids are drinking and doing other things then what does that say about your own kids. Dont point fingers at people you do not know or situations you only hear about. Unless you have been there and have seen it with your own two eyes, i suggest you keep your opinions to yourself.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry... I will clarify my last statement. My son has had "Parties" at my home with his friends since he was 14 or 15. Starting with Skateboard "Parties" because skateboarding, like every other youth activity in Pocomoke City is forbidden. I built, from purchased blueprints, a skateboard halfpipe that cost me $1500.00 in material so that he and his friends would not bother "The Friendliest City On The Eastern Shore" with their skateboarding. These skateboarding parties attracted a lot of kids that had nowhere else to go. My wife and I did not mind at all. They would skate all day and all night. I gave that halfpipe away to a friend at work because his son was interested in skateboarding. My son and his pals come to my place to skeet shoot, ride their four-wheelers, go mud bogging in my back field and have bonfires. I believs Hunter even played his guitar. There was even a member of the PCPD that came to my place a couple of times for those mud-bog events. People that know us know that we put on events to give these kids fun things to do to keep them off the streets and give them some direction, like putting on Haunted House events on Halloween, at much personal expense to us. We donate the money we take in to charity and believe me, we spend a hell of a lot more than we take in. These kids love it. Some of these "kids" are "of legal drinking age" and if they want to drink some beers, I'm not going to stop them. BUT... they are not going to drive away from here. I was never given the kind of love and feeling of importance or worth that my wife and I provide for these kinds. Maybe that is why some of them come here. I know we always gave them somewhere to go when they needed someplace to go. I don't mean to take this blog away from Hunter, but I know he would stand up for what I am saying.
ReplyDeleteWe Love You Hunter. And will miss you forever.
first of all i want to say that i send my prayers out to hunter's family. next thing is teenagers in pocomoke are doing the same things that every teen has done at least once in their life. the parking lot is a place to socialize not to drink so don't say enless you know. jess is a good guy and no one can be harder on him than himself. im sure he is blamming himself everyday. this is something he has to live with everyday of his life. this is a tragic situation and i say lets pray for both familes. they both lost a son in this ordeal. my god bless both familes and friends of hunter. may he rest in peace. he will be missed.
