Finally, A Press Release On The Most Recent Homicide

On September 19, 2010 at approximately 2:53 am, Officers of the Salisbury Police received a call to respond to the Royal Farms Convenience store located on North Salisbury Boulevard for a report of shots fired. Upon arrival the officers found the victim, 20 year old Devan Leoman Walls of Salisbury, unconscious in the parking lot with several gunshot wounds to his body. Officers received information from witnesses in the parking lot that the suspect was leaving the parking lot in a vehicle. The officers pursued the vehicle and stopped the vehicle in the area of Fairground Drive. The suspect fled from the vehicle and was caught by the officers after a substantial foot chase. The victim Walls was transported to the Peninsula Regional Medical Center and was pronounced dead as a result of the gunshot wounds.

ARRESTED: Walik Shavon Evans, 26 years of age
Salisbury, Maryland
CHARGES: First degree murder
Second degree murder
First degree assault
Second degree assault
Use of a handgun in a crime of violence
Possession of a handgun on person
Possession of a handgun by prohibited
Person
Reckless endangerment

DISPOSITION: Released to Central Booking

This investigation is continuing as to additional suspects, and if anyone has information regarding this incident they are asked to contact the Salisbury Police at 410-548-3165 or to call Crime Solvers at 410-548-1776. Information may be left anonymously.

  1. Incarcerated by the state for attempted murder, assault and illegal handgun possession, it's not the first time he's tried to kill somebody.
    And while he was a guest of the state he was the defendant in three paternity suits. Guess what? He's the daddy in all three.

  2. Two thugs off the street. One in jail and one 6 ft under. These thugs act like gangsters and die like gangsters. Thankfully no law abidng citizens were harmed.

  4. JET BLACK, Is completely wrong... The victim in this case was not a thug. He was a father that didnt get to live long enough to see his child and was only in maryland to visit his mother and got caught in the wrong place at the wrong time.. He was my uncle and is missed very dearly!
