Feds Radiating Americans At Internal Checkpoints

Federal authorities do not concern themselves about the flood of illegal immigrants and drugs crossing the border every day, they’re more worried about radiating American truck drivers at internal checkpoints with mobile scanners that shoot dangerous x-rays through both vehicles and passengers.

As we reported last month, the federal government has acquired hundreds of backscatter x-ray scanners mounted in vans that they are now using to randomly scan vehicles, passengers and homes in complete violation of the 4th amendment and with wanton disregard for any health consequences.

An example of their expanding use was reported by WSBTV yesterday, after federal agents from several agencies, including Homeland Security, the Department of Transportation, and the TSA, set up an internal checkpoint on Interstate 20 just west of Atlanta and detained truck drivers for half an hour or more at a “state-owned inspection station” while they were scanned with a bomb detection device.

Officials admitted there was no specific threat that justified the checkpoint, and although it was labeled a “counter-terror operation,” the scans were also being conducted in the name of “safety”.

  1. We are living in a police state. Our government does not care about us. It serves interests other than the American People

  2. Another good example of how ignorant and uneducated our government employees are.
These people are exactly what Obama wants , they won't question any decision no matter how wrong it is or if it is against our constitution .

  3. So what's the problem? Carry a hot pocket with you and it will be heated and ready for cheesy goodness.

  4. Our government is against us.
Thats right, they are not concerned with protecting our borders or us.
Our government is concerned with how much money they can get out of the average tax paying citizen.
    Like truck drivers.
Have you noticed that there are not that many trucks on the road anymore, not much freight or anything moving these days, but have you noticed the d.o.t. stopping trucks on the road, there everywhere.
No they are not protecting you from terrorists ,they are fining these trucks for anything and everything possible.
Well all i can say is our government is destroying america and they are winning, i cannot afford to work much longer , the government is costing me to much , not only with taxes, but with these type tactics.
Oh and good luck with your next checkup, you may be radioactive.

  5. Interesting, we should fear scanner radiation, but not be concerned about radiation from a dirty bomb. Let the terrorists succeed, and people will be screaming that the government was not proactive. Sorry, you can't have it both ways.

Your the type that are afraid to go out of there own house.
America is suppose to be a free country.
Do you think that a terrorist would drive through a highly monitored state highway truck weigh station?
Not to mention with feds with xRAY guns.
There not as stupid as you are.
    Go hide under your bed.
Do you live in the real world or in an office ?

    I am on earth, however.
When there are no trucks on the road.
Go get your own groceries and everything else you own .
you say this because you most likely work in a office and have everything delivered, oh by truck probably.

    You say lawsuits.

  10. Original 10:40,

#1 your statement about the number of trucks couldn't have been any dumber. Atleast look up some real stats before forming an opinion. By the way, I'm on the road 2.5 hours a day. Uh, there's plenty of trucks. And even if there were a decrease, logical people would attribute that to the global recession first.

#2 taxes: Again put away your hysteria and look at the numbers. You are likely paying less taxes now than you did before 2008 and even less than you did before 2000. If you're not doing too well business-wise, maybe its because you are not too good with numbers or logic.

Oh look, Joe is looking at us from a distance and he now sees TWO fools.

You voted for Obama , and you are proud of it.
    Hail Hitler and Hail Obama!
Do you salute you savior every day?

  12. Our government will tear the constitution to shreads in the next 10 years. All because they are "protecting us".

  13. Does this mean we can radiate back?

  14. The CIA are the terroists.

If not, then the so called terrorists really suck at their jobs.

I am not afraid. Except for being afraid of our government

  15. All of you paranoid libertarians, are the ones hiding. The terrorists are saying the same words you are, and they are hoping your idea of "freedom" will insure that they have an easy target next time.

  16. 2:56....I don't know...I'm sensing A LOT of people don't trust the government or believe that they have our best interest at heart...what IS the problem with scanning your house with radiation? Or searching your house while you are at work, without a warrant? Or stopping your vehicle to check to see if there are any crimes being committed? Unmanned police drones patrolling the skies above American cities?? C'mon people....its for your own good...The Constitution? HA!! we don't need no stinkin' Konstitution. And the rights that hundreds of thousand Americans have died for? You don't need them either. Whats the problem with all you paranoid conspiracy theorists?

  17. If you aren't paranoid then you aren't paying attention

  20. Look the courts say that it is fine to scan your car with a K9 without probable cause, it is fine to visually scan your face for pulsing veins or sweating. The genie is already out of the bottle. I don't think the Feds are out to get everybody. But, we do need to use ALL the tools we have to catch these idiots. We are at war, so beat your drum of individual freedom, and protect the people bombing at the same time.

Looks like you are going to lose a lot of cases in court.

NORWICH – Last week the New York Court of Appeals ruled that police can not subject a person or their vehicle to a canine drug search unless the officer develops a “founded suspicion” that criminal activity is taking place.

“New York State has a long history of restricting police authority and power compared to other states or the federal government,” said Norwich Police Chief Joseph Angelino, whose department added a canine officer last year. “It used to be that the air was ‘free’ and the dogs were free to sniff it and free to follow it. But that’s no longer the case as New York has now taken even federal mandates one step further in saying police need to have a suspicion of criminal activity prior to letting police canines sniff the air.”
