DOES BOB EHRLICH AGREE WITH MD GOP'S SHRILL CALLS FOR DLLR SECRETARY RESIGNATION?

Ehrlich Was the Ultimate Look-The-Other-Way Governor, Refused To Ask PSC Commissioner Caught Using State Computer for Sex Chats and Prostitution to Resign

Annapolis, MD (September, 28, 2010) - In response to the Maryland Republican Party's shrill call for the resignation of Department of Labor Licensing and Regulation Secretary Alexander Sanchez, Maryland Democratic Party Communications Director Isaac Salazar released the following statement:
"It would be shockingly hypocritical if Bob Ehrlich joined the Maryland Republican Party's shrill, politically-motivated call for a dedicated public servant to resign. When he was in office, Ehrlich was the ultimate look-the-other-way governor when it suited his political agenda; doing nothing as his Public Service Commission Chair was caught colluding with lobbyists to jack up electricity rates on consumers, turning the other cheek as his Secretary of the Environment conspired with energy lobbyists to scuttle the Healthy Air Act, retaining a chief of staff who was subpoenaed to testify about his role in the Jack Abramoff scandal, and tasking a man he nicknamed the "Prince of Darkness" with executing the partisan firings of the state workers and spreading FALSE rumors about the personal lives of political opponents. Ehrlich even refused to fire a member of his Public Service Commission who used his state-owned computer to have sex chats and arrange meetings with prostitutes. Now it's election season and Ehrlich wants to score political points by calling for the resignation of dedicated public servants in the O'Malley administration. Voters aren't going to be fooled by Bob Ehrlich's political shenanigans and shrill political attacks--they want a governor who's on their side, not someone like Bob Ehrlich who has always put the lobbyists and the corporate special interests first."
