Governor Anthony Brown, Baltimore Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake, foster families, advocates, community leaders and others to announce the results of the Governor’s Place Matters initiative, a reform program for Maryland’s child welfare system that focuses on finding permanent families for children in foster care.
Governor O’Malley will outline increases in Maryland’s adoption rate, reductions in the amount of children in foster care, and the results of a new focus on placing children in family settings rather than group homes.
