FISHER: WHERE ARE THE JOBS?

Democrats Continue Ruinous Economic Policies, Special Interest Payoffs While Americans Suffer

(Salisbury)
– Republican small businessman and Eastern Shore native Rob Fisher released the following statement regarding today’s sobering economic news:

“Last month our economy lost another 131,000 jobs and unemployment remained alarmingly high at 9.5%, yet Nancy Pelosi and Frank Kratovil continue to pursue the same flawed and failing policies that have resulted in fewer jobs and mountains of debt for all Americans. If the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over expecting different results, this has to be the most absurd Congress in our history.

Since the passage of the so-called stimulus Maryland has lost over 14,000 jobs, but Kratovil and his fellow Democrats remain intent on rewarding the special interest groups that got them elected and pursuing economic policies that have failed throughout the world. It’s clear the only jobs career politicians are interested in saving are their own.

It’s time we held our representatives accountable for their actions. We need people in Washington who understand that small businesses, not the government, create jobs, and who will fight to fix our economy and get our fiscal house back in order. The First District deserves a Congressman who will listen to his constituents, stand up to career politicians and Put Maryland First.”

  1. Joe, you're wealthy. How many paying jobs have you personally created? Not just the ad sales to keep the blog running. Real people jobs that you are personally responsible for.

  2. Before I retired I provided thousands, yes, thousands of jobs. I owned a large manufacturing company that not only employed people within my company, I created thousands of jobs by outsourcing different processes through outside companies as well as sales jobs for Dealers and Distributors around the World.

So, because I now own a Blog, that doesn't account for my lifetime of work?

I should add, I also owned several other businesses outside of my manufacturing company that provided hundreds of jobs as well in the state of Maryland.

As for the future, that's really nobody's business. YOU do NOT own stock in Salisbury News, therefore I do not owe you an answer to that question. Nor am I foolish enough to answer it to an ANONYMOUS commenter.

  3. I really don't get why 12:50 asked the question, probably jealous. But I do have something that many of us discuss regularly. Small business is the way to create jobs and everytime the federal, state, local governments take more money out of our pockets we will continue to hold on to our money afraid of what is around the corner. Saying that...the federal government needs to bring our manufucturers home and put Americans to work. American's need to suck it up and not expect to work for an outlandish hourly wage and crazy rights. Compromise to help each other.
