NEW YORK – President Barack Obama blames the media for creating a "phony controversy" over racial remarks by a black Agriculture Department official that were posted on the Internet.
His administration ousted the employee, but then apologized and offered to rehire her.
In an interview on ABC's daytime talk show "The View," Obama says the media often seek controversy, not the facts. But he acknowledged that the forced resignation of Shirley Sherrod could also be blamed on those in his administration who overreacted.
Obama said the incident shows that while progress has been made, racial tensions still exist in the U.S.
The wide-ranging interview also covered lighthearted topics, from Obama's knowledge of pop culture to his Blackberry use.

Remember, it's ALWAYS the medias fault when that Administration doesn't properly vet something or someone. It's Fox News fault, because they're racist and didn't play the video til after Sherrod was forced to resign while driving...ah the "blameless" administration lol
ReplyDeleteWonderful. His knowing of pop culture is impressive. He doisn't even know who his pop is. Who's yo daddy. Wake up America. He's a liar.
ReplyDeleteWhen will Obama take responsibility for anything ?
ReplyDeleteI just heard that a cold front is going through Spain today. The coldest period will be during the Clinton wedding in New York. I wonder if the wedding will be broadcast on TV. If not, Oprah I'm sure will fill the First Family in on what she thought of the wedding during her attendance.
ReplyDeleteBrrrrrr.... feel the chill?
No, it was Bush's fault.
ReplyDeleteHe's not much of a leader more of a celebrity like Paris Hilton .
ReplyDeleteIt is not important. He doesn't even know, today, who his daddy is. Where, is pop. You may add the word culture there, but it makes no difference. He has no clue. He is a liar
ReplyDeleteGood grief, give it a rest and move on!! there are bigger things happening in the news and I'm sorry but this woman got her job back plus more. She's being well taken care of and I'm sure will be for the rest of her life. It was nice to see ole Obama saying sorry but funny thing is you didn't see him saying sorry to those police officers he ran his mouth about. Goes to show who's side he's always on.
ReplyDeleteThe man directly said his administration over reacted. What more do you need?
ReplyDelete8:37 He also blamed the media he has no back bone !
ReplyDelete11:28 the media hyped this story because the 24 hr. news cycle no longer cares about getting the story right. They only want to hype you up to watch. The SHarrod incident illustrated this perfectly.
ReplyDeleteWhat it illustrates is how racist Sharrod is and the NAACP is nothing more than a hate group ! and of course Obama is not a leader !
