I happen to be talking with a waitress today who was concerned about her dog she keeps chained outside. ( I know----I don't believe in chaining either ) She needs a crate to be able to bring him inside in this extreme heat. The dog is about 3 yrs, 55 lbs. & has had no training for inside the home.
At present time, the dog has dug a hold in the ground & stays there. There are no
shade trees in her yard----there is a pen----uncovered. The owner is a single Mother with 4 children-----she continually texed her13 yr old son to spray the dog down & to check on him. She is most definitely financially strapped. She can't put him inside without a crate for fear he would damage her rental home. If there is someone out there who knows of someone who would donate a crate to her ---- my husband & I will take it up to Seaford & set it up.
We are so hoping someone can help this young lady with her dog.

sounds to me like animal control needs to be called, with no shade and she is working well dog gets no fresh water which is hot water for him and if he is digging well then its more than likely mud water... Why in the HECK get a dog and chain up outside with no means of shade?? this is cruel. u need to get the dog and find him a better home. u know he isnt getting attention..love...told good boy. we have prisoners treated better than this dog.. LORD what is wrong with people?? lets chain her up outside with no comfort and see how well she does... She has no comon since...she doesnt need a dog...or any animal...SAVE THE DOG!!!!
ReplyDeleteI have a crate, called and left a message.
ReplyDeletegood lord, she's trying to fix the situation, probably doesn't want to break her kids hearts by getting rid of the dog and is doing the best she can, i really don't think we need to chain her up outside, instead let's try to help her out. Im all for taking care of animals but lets take care of people too!
ReplyDeleteOh God. Hearing this breaks my heart.
ReplyDeleteI have donated a crate and everything is fine. Have some compassion people, she is doing her best with the situation she is in. Either help the situation or move on. Negative comments in a situation like this never help.
ReplyDeleteCrating is good and chaining(tethering) is good. Either one can be abused and the dog must be conditioned for both Providing a good environment and not neglecting the animal is the key. Otherwise why own one. Good for this dog owner and the samaritan who provided the crate!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteThe law that the HSUS has brought to 24 States is written to shut ALL dog breeders down. The only ones left standing will be show dog breeders. All of you will be paying $5,000. to $750,000 for your next purebred puppy. In the Amish community all of you did see all the photos splattered the internet of the so called unheated Amish dog Kennels? Look again.
