Guerrero-Smith ShoBox Final Weighs, Quotes & Photos From Mississippi

Top middleweight prospect Fernando
Guerrero weighed in at 159 pounds and tough veteran Ishe Smith measured 158 pounds during Thursday's weigh in at Fitzgerald Casino in Tunica, Miss.

Guerrero (18-0, 15 KOs) will put his undefeated record on the line
against Smith (21-4, 9 KOs) in a 10-round bout in the main event of
ShoBox: The New Generation tomorrow, Friday, LIVE on SHOWTIME(r) (11 p.m. ET/PT, delayed on the west coast). The triple header will take place at the DeSoto Civic Center in Southaven, just days from the ninth anniversary of the first ShoBox telecast.

What the fighters had to say:

GUERRERO: "I'm ready for action. I've waited long enough. I'm ready to take my next big step tomorrow night."

SMITH: "I'm back at home on SHOWTIME. This is where it started. I'm like a kid that went off to college and now I am back to try and graduate from ShoBox once again. I love these people and I really miss Nick Charles. I wish he were here to see me, but I know he'll be watching. This one is for him."

  3. It was a great fight. Fernando definitely had the earlier rounds but it looked like smith took the later rounds. The judges scorecard didnt have the fight as nearly as close as it was. Congrats to Fernando
