It is going to be a HOT on the Lower Eastern Shore of Maryland!! According to the National Weather Service, this hazardous weather could make it dangerous to those working in the extreme heat.
Hot and humid conditions will produce heat index values of nearly 100 degrees this afternoon and 102-108 degrees on Thursday afternoon. In addition, Isolated to scattered thunderstorms will be possible Thursday afternoon into Thursday night.
According to FEMA, in extreme heat and high humidity, evaporation is slowed and the body must work extra hard to maintain a normal temperature. Most heat disorders accrue because the victim has been overexposed to heat.
