Republicans On The Eastern Shore Supporting Kratovil?

This property happens to be owned by a republican I know. Andy Harris has had opportunity time and time again to meet with this person and sell him on his beliefs for the 1st District but clearly they weren't convinced.

What makes this even more interesting TO ME is that Andy has been a big name for the past 5 years on the shore, yet some republicans are still not convinced he's the man.

The 1st District Race is going to be just as interesting this time as it was the last time.

  1. I'm a republican and i (as it stands now) will vote for Kratovil. I believe he has actually represented the shore quite well. Other than the DADT vote, I think he has been pretty spot on.
    Feel free to debate though.

  2. I voted for Andy last year but I'm not a fan. He was just the best of the two. I think Andy is fake and has no care for the Eastern Shore. He only spends time over here for the votes. Once he wins you will never see him again.

  3. My Pops is Republican and also is voting for Kratovil. He sees him as the one that will keep the Eastern Shore in his mind. I, also a Republican, am still undecided. Leaning towards Andy but not sure yet. As long as O'Malley loses I will be happy. Preferably to Brian Murphy.

  4. It's not so about Andy not being on the shore after the election. He works at Easton Hospital and sometimes at PRMC he also lives in Cambridge when he is scheduled to work at Shore hospitals. Kratovil on the other hand lost me when he said he doesn't care if he is reelected or not. He said either way he wins. Wins his seat or wins by being able to be home with his kids. I don't want a representative with that kind of attitude.

  5. I have always sensed strength in Kratovil, dont know why. I sense hes deeper inside than one would think.

  6. Yes!!! Finally you have started to post Anti-Harris comments posted by Republicans. I have been writing you for months. Andy Harris WILL NOT WIN against Kratovil. He was trampled in his debate at SU, and will be trampled again. And our "conservative" candiate proposed a new regulatory scheme in Annapolis this year that was going to take more money out of famlies' pockets and the guy had no clue why people were railing against it. He is exactly what we don't need in Congress. His last proposed bill in Annapolis demonstrates that he is just another politician who is out of touch. NO WAY WILL I SUPPORT HIM.

  7. I am a long time registered Democrat and I will vote for Andy Harris. I don't need a congressman with a charming personality, but a congressman that will vote right, and Harris will.

  8. Another Gilcrest lover, that's all that needs to be said.

  9. It's very simple, if you are a conservative you will vote for Andy Harris, if not you will vote for yet another liberal democrat, Kratovil. Don't forget Kratovil voted for Cap and Trade and he voted against recommit on the health care bill. That's all I need to know about Kratovil in order to vote for Harris.

  10. I am voting for Brian Murphy and Rob Fisher.

  11. Is that Wayne Gilcrests house? I'm sure he is still a big Kratovil supporter.

  12. Kratovil voted against healthcare reform and proved that he really is a republican.

  13. This property is located across the road from the Farlow clan in Pittsville. They have been red hot democrats forever. I would guess they were the ones responsible for placing the sign.

  14. anonymous 11:22, Kratovil voted FOR Cap and Trade, He's a Democrat, period. He guy a bye from Pelosi because they didn't need his vote to pass it, yet they did want and need his seat in the 1st District.

  15. If you like Obama and O'Malley, vote for Kratovil. If you like politicians like governor Brewer of Arizona and congressman Bauchman than Andy Harris would be the man to vote for.

  16. He voted against healthcare reform to save his sorry career 11:24. Minutes after his vote he had the opportunity to vote to recommit which could have stopped the health care bill and he voted not to recommit. That tells me he really wanted the health care bill and he wanted to please Pelosi and Obama. Harris would have voted against the health care bill and also voted to recommitt, that is why I will vote for Harris, he is the real conservative.

  17. Kratovil wanted to vote for the health care bill. Had he not wanted to vote for it he would have come out early against it instead of waiting until the last minute to say he was against it. It cost a lot of people a lot of time and money calling and traveling in order to get his attention and vote against this horrible bill.

  18. anonymous 11:26, you are absolutely 100% wrong! In fact, I just got off the phone with the owner. He had been told Kratovil voted against cap & trade and was lied to. Now that he is aware that Kratovil did in fact vote for it, he will have the sign removed and he will vote for Harris. Chalk one up for Salisbury News once again.

  19. Kratovil? you must be kiddin me. Why don't they put O'Malley sign up too, cause you know Frank is best buds with that scam artist.

  20. "He had been told Kratovil voted against cap & trade and was lied to."

i am the 1035anon, this is what i had heard as well (that he was againist it). this is a major reason i felt the way i did.
joe, where can i go to check the voting record to see for myself?

  21. 11:36, he came out against it from the very beginning. He told everyone at the Salisbury forum in August that he wouldn't vote for it. You don't have to lie to win the argument.

  22. anonymous 11:52, I'll look into that and put it up as a Post. It seems many have been lied to because he did vote FOR it.

  23. It doesn't matter how Kratovil voted in the past, the first vote he will make after being re-elected will be for Pelosi as Speaker of the House.

That is why I am voting for Andy Harris.

Kratovil did vote for cap and trade. Roll call vote #477 on house bill 2454.

  25. I am very active with the Republican party, but I have not made up my mind about Kratovil vs. Harris. I was really turned off in the last election by the dirty tactics used by Harris in his campaign advertisements. Republicans do not all march in lock-step. We are not all conservative, any more than all Democrats are liberal. As a very moderate Republican, I may feel driven to vote for Kratovil, since I was one of Gilcrest's fans. I guess we'll have to see as the campaign unfolds.

  26. If he supports Obama I will vote against him .

  27. i checked out the website. i looked up the bill. even on the governments own website, the votes for are outwieghed by the oppositional votes nearly 5 to 1. care to answer why the government STILL isnt listening to the people?

  28. Ireton, O'malley, Kratovil = Obama

  29. think people Kratovils first vote was for Nancy Pelosi to be speaker of the house, one of Franks largest contributors is the sugar industry owned by..DING ....

    Pelosi!

    ReplyDelete
  30. Arnie has it exactly right. A vote for Kratovil is a vote to retain Pelosi as speaker. No matter what you don't like about Harris, he wont be voting for Pelosi. For me, that is reason enough to vote for Harris.

    ReplyDelete
  31. I think Kratovil voting against health care might have swayed some people. And I think that is exactly why he did it. I don't think the vote reflected his genuine political philosophy, but rather was intended to attract independents and moderate republicans for this election.
