Wicomico County Executive Rick Pollitt wants your money – and not just your tax dollars. Rick wants you to dig deep in order that we may enjoy another four years of whining about the revenue cap and a steady whittling away of county services in the hope that taxpayers will finally capitulate and agree to the tax increases that Pollitt desperately wants to levy on us and on our neighbors.
On July 10th we are all invited to a fundraiser at the home of Wicomico’s most notorious lefty – Mike Pretl:
Even more telling than the hosts – Pretl and his Mrs. – is the litany of co-hosts:
Phil Tilghman – unwittingly responsible for the revenue cap by leading the largest property tax increase in the history of Wicomico County.
Mike Dunn – veteran of shady land deals and the $80 million debacle known as the waste water treatment plant. All accomplished in a single term on the Salisbury City Council.
John Groutt – part of Wicomico’s more radical tree-hugging element, who along with Pretl, helped Pollitt in his unsuccessful attempt to strip Wicomico farmers of their property rights without compensation.
Delegates Norm Conway and Jim Mathias – we can thank them for supporting some of the largest tax increases and most profligate spending in Maryland’s history.
REMEMBER – when Rick asks for your vote this year look at his record AND the record of some of his supporters. Pollitt’s record has proven that he is not the moderate / conservative he claims to be. The revenue cap and the state’s requirement that we have a balanced budget are the only two things keeping your taxes in check and your county government (at least nominally) in the black!
who DO YOU support for CE, Joe?
ReplyDeleteAt this given moment, Rick Pollitt.
ReplyDeleteI support the "dark horse" who is going to file and win.
ReplyDeleteChuck Cook and Mike Dunn? Pass.
ReplyDeleteWhy Rick Pollitt? All he wants to do is spend other people's money.
ReplyDeleteA collection of thieves in that bunch. I would pay to avoid those tax and spend dumbocrats!
ReplyDeleteAt least one of the other co-hosts has a very shady past as well. Several of them would make me very uncomfortable to be around. No thanks to this invitation. Birds of a feather stick togeather.
ReplyDeletePhil Tilghman did no such thing...that occurred after his watch.
ReplyDeleteHope no alcohol is being served to this bunch.
ReplyDeleteOMG. Please tell me this ain't so. What a farce Ricky has been living!!!!
ReplyDeletebring your own rope
ReplyDeleteJoe, with respect, I have to ask, how can you support Mr. Pollitt? He has failed to measure up to the standards of leadership and common sense that are requisite for the position? He has failed his constituency. Why should we re-elect him? Is it a matter of the lessor of two evils?
ReplyDelete12:29 it's ok...Barrie is not a cohost.
ReplyDeleteHe is the lessor of two evils. No different than Obama over McCain or Ireton over Comegys. I have yet to see a viable candidate enter the Executive race. You asked what I thought at this moment and I shared the truth.
ReplyDeleteA list of co-hosts that lengthy will assure Rick that if no one shows up there will still be enough people there to make it appear he had a good turnout.
ReplyDeleteJoe, you are saying Obama was the lesser of two evils???
ReplyDeleteIs there a dentist somewhere in the house that can take care of a few oral issues at the fundraiser?
ReplyDeleteTo be able to skim and not take care of your teeth....that is the ultimate sin.
Sheriff Mike:
ReplyDeletePlease have some of your men waiting for these character's to leave this. I can bet there will be a few that can't walk the line.
You know there is a dental chair at the detention center. You milk everything else out there, why not get this little service for free too?
ReplyDelete7:29am...sadly the local law enforcement has engaged in the "blind eye" approach to law enforement. Ever wopnder why there are never any DUI's after the Tawes crab fest in Crisfield? Don't take my word. Ask a police officer to comment off the record.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Joe. Unless someone else files, at least I know what Rick's up to.
ReplyDelete12:01am You are absolutely wrong. Phil Tilghman did pass that huge tax increase. Check it out for yourself.
ReplyDeleteIt was Rusty Molnar was president of the County Council when the huge tax increase was passed, that led to VOICE and the revenue cap
ReplyDeleteMike Dunn's name was the kicker for me - Rick won't see a penny from me until he distances himself from this manic depressive slimeball.
ReplyDeleteWhere is Sample-Hughes name on this? I see the other two councilmen on it.
ReplyDeleteRick Pollitt had nothing to do with King Burnett's, Pretl, and Groutt's, effort to downzone. Rick publicly stood up for property rights and was prepared to veto the legislation. Let's at least get the story straight....

LMFAO...can you say damage control!!
Is it damage control when it's the truth? I am constantly amazed at the number of people who don't want to be confused by the facts.

ReplyDeleteAs usual, Rick tried to straddle the fence on "The Great Land Grab". However, he swore that he would never support a measure that diminished property rights without compensation.
What did he do? He, along with John Cannon and Bill McCain, pushed forward the "Great Compromise" that would have still stolen our property rights -- just not as badly as the original proposition.
Sorry, when Rick supported that measure he lost me.
