Mike Castle Votes to Silence Delaware
Sides with Democrates to Pass Disclose Act
Congressman Mike Castle (R) from Delaware was one of only two Republicans to vote with the Democrates to pass the Disclose Act H.R. 5175.
It may be time for this veteran politican to retire or change parties. His support of H.R. 5175 shows his total disregard for local grassroots organizations while endorsing the generously and often questionably funded union coffers that are the lifeblood of the Democratic party. The rank and file most times have no choice in candidates financed by the union nor the ' mandatory' donations derived from union dues. Mike Castle no longer speaks for Delaware and may need to adjust his party loyalities.
Castle was against the amendments to the bill. The bill as authored by Castle treated everyone equally and prevented any organization or company that receives the bulk of its money from tax payer funding (like TARP), or foreign corporations and entities from donating to US elections.
ReplyDeleteAs for who speaks for Delaware, as a native Delawarean I have followed Castle's career for decades, and he has always put the well being of our state first.
His primary opponent, on the other hand, can't name the top 5 employers in the state, and sued the only company in Delaware that ever hired her.
Maybe Castle took an objective view of the bill and decided it was a good idea. Unlike so many of his rep. colleagues who see anything not coming from rep. as being "unamerican, socialist, etc."
ReplyDelete"Castle was against the amendments to the bill."
ReplyDeleteThen why did he vote for it. For that matter, why did he vote for TARP, Cap and Tax, etc., etc. Mike Castle's voting record reads like a hard line liberal Democrat. He needs to go. He's been in Washington TOO long.

I had a chance to talk to Mike and his competition at a Food Bank Drive in Milton a couple of weeks ago. I do think he is going to be given a run for his money this time around.

ReplyDeleteThis bill "treats everyone equally"???
It is equality when a bill is specifically designed to EXCLUDE UNIONS and restricts other organizations?
Poor Mike made a mistake on this one.
Mike Castle voted against Obamacare, the Stimulus Bill, the Jobs Bill, repeal of DADT, and a long list of other bills. You won't get that record from his Democrat opponent Chris Coons.
ReplyDeleteHe voted with George Bush 87% of the time, and with his party over 80% of the time.
And if you want to read the truth about his opponent, complete with court documents, go here:

That is an article from the News JOurnal, it's on another site so you don't have to pay for it. Or you can go here:

And read an article by the Coastal Conservative Network.
Delawareans won't vote for a candidate who lied about being a college graduate in 2006 & 2008, or who sued the only employer in the state that ever hired her, a conservative think tank run by a Reagan staffer, or who goes on trips to the middle east while still owing $23,000 to businesses in Delaware who were stupid enough to rent her campaign office space, and supplied her with the materials she needed to run a campaign.
Christine stated in her Mark Levin Show interview that she's asked Castle to debate her and he refuses. I suspect he knows he has some competition.
ReplyDeleteThe people of Delaware were robbed of their right to select Biden's replacement after the last election when the Governor gave the job to Biden's secretary. I look forward to having my vote count for this election.
