"Joe, I just received an email from a friend in Salisbury and he said that gossip is running rampant in Salisbury that Ruark had something to do with Sam's accident. Sounds completely ridiculous to me. Have you heard anything?? "
Now look Folks, I have been receiving some of the dumbest phone calls and e-mail messages, let's cut out the BS right here and now.
Sam Vincent was in a very unfortunate accident and lost his life. No matter what has been said and done recently, Davis Ruark loved Sam Vincent like a Brother. Like Brothers, they had their differences recently but PLEASE!
Each and every one of you spreading such rumors needs to cut it out right now. This was an unfortunate accident.
I knew someone would eventually come up with a conspiracy theory... what a shame that some people have nothing better to do...
ReplyDeletePraying for the entire Vincent and SAO family's...
It doesn't matter what you say, these morons are going to spread nasty viscious rumors anyway because that is the kind of people they are. They are just plain, flat out, bad people. They are probably the same people that make all the viscious comments on all of the blogs. You should have saved your breath and bandwidth on this one because no one is going to stop doing anything just because you say so. They might stop sending the comments in to this blog but they'll still spew their lies all around town and everywhere anyone is foolish enough to listen.
ReplyDeleteI don't believe that Ruark had anything to do with it, but, stranger things have happened. I'm sure that the police at least have to look into the possibility of it.
ReplyDeleteWas it the full moon, the heat, or is it just my confirmation of the underlying idiocy that is running rampant, not just here, but everywhere?
ReplyDeleteWhat a circus of dolts!
It's tragic enough, the loss of Sam Vincent without all this jabbering and back-biting. No one in their right mind would assume such a conspiracy.
With all that's going on and the lunacy abounding, it's really beginning to make a sound case for 2012.
Wake UP people! Mourn our loss, pray for the family...and grow up.
That is the dumbest thing I have ever heard. Grow up and let us mourn the loss of this great man with out trashing his friends.
ReplyDeleteJoe:
ReplyDeletePlease remove this post ASAP. Your "friend" must be a buffoon, and you look like one (I know that you're not) by suggesting that anything of the sort is "running rampant" here in Salisbury. Yesterday and today I have talked to dozens of persons about the tragedy and none have suggested that they associate Mr. Ruark with the event.
Why give the dirtballs any publicity by repeating their slanderous nonsense?
Just disregard it, and they will shut up sooner.

ReplyDeleteSure, like the police have nothing better to do. Go back to your hole, please.
What idiots to even have nothing better to do .Your life must need desperate attention or you are just plain crazy..This was a freak accident , bad intersection..I had just crossed there before the accident and it took me some time.I also had some jackass cussing me out to go..Thank God i listened to my own judgement..You people that are spreading these crazy rumors need to leave this family alone and let them grieve for their loved one....
ReplyDeleteSigh, give some people a shovel and they will somehow find s#it to try and dig up. Give Ruark a break and let Sam's family mourn. Rest in peace Sam.
ReplyDeleteJoe, Thank you so much for your "Let's Clear The Air" article. I was shocked when I heard about the horrible accident, but was even more shocked when I read the latest rumors about Davis. I guess the public must be constantly reminded that Davis hired Sam out of respect and friendship, and as you said, loved him like a brother. He also promoted Sam to Deputy State's Attorney. Davis is devasted. He also did nothing out of line when asking for resignations. I am certain as smart as Sam is that he knew his running against his boss and long time friend (no disrespect to Sam at all, it was his right and priviledge) would upset the running of an office, especially working side by side on important cases! This is fairly standard procedure to ask for resignations. It does not matter what level job someone is working, if you tell your boss or co-worker that you are going to try and take their job, it would cause chaos. It would have been a fair race, even more so for Sam from what I gather. Every article I see is constantly bringing up the DUI that Davis has paid dearly for - it seems to be a LIFE sentence in Salisbury/OC. I certainly don't think Mr. Ruark sentenced anyone to a life sentence for a DUI, as a matter of fact, he is very involved with helping others as much as humanly possible from what I see. He did not hurt anyone but himself, and he has paid dearly. I am sure Davis wanted to keep his job as well as Sam wanted to keep his. I say "wanted in past tense" because I can not imagine that Davis would even want that job anymore after what the people are doing to him. Enough is enough - leave the man alone.
ReplyDeleteAn accident is an accident, but I bet Mr. Ruark is now breathing a sigh of relief that he now has no real contender at re-election....Mr Vincent, you were an example of those that serve in public service, that's all I have to say that issue...You had my vote......
ReplyDeleteThe degree of ignorance and absurdity within our citizenry has once again proven the power of the public schools.
ReplyDeleteWhat A holes - Davis is a very good man. Sam was a very good man. Horrible things happen that defy explanation - that's all folks.
ReplyDeleteThose individuals including the head of law enforcement for Wicomico Co. needs cease with the close minded ridicule over the devastating loss of Sam Vincent. Pointing fingers or blaming Davis Ruark or anyone for this incident is ridiculous. Although the infamous memo has not been released (and at this point it would do no good and Mr. Ruark is man enough to realize this)no one can tell me any different that Mr. Ruark was doing what he felt was in the best interest of his office, as a whole. SAO still has a job to do despite turmoil. Would the Sheriff allow a deputy to stay at his post if he were running against him??? H*** NO. It certainly would have the potential to negatively affect the job he has been elected to perform.
ReplyDeleteI really can't imagine that Sam would want the past week events to embody his memory and dedication of 25+ yrs of service to WIC CO!
Let's drop this subject once and for all. Sam was my cousin and I am struggling with his death. I know that Sam is in Heaven. He wouldn't want Davis to be blamed for this accident. THE FAMILY IS NOT BLAMING DAVIS FOR THE ACCIDENT. It is one of those things that we will never have an answer for until we join Sam on the other side. Sam was one of my best buddies. He will be sorely missed not only by our family but also by the citizens of Wicomico County. Our grandfather taught us that if we don't have anything good to say, don't say anything. That is what Sam would have wanted too. Love and miss you lots Sam. apb
ReplyDeleteLike the other governor said " the eastern shore is the $hithouse for the rest of Maryand"
ReplyDeleteWe are once again reminded of the magnitude of stupidity on the eastern shore. Sadly, it only appears to be worsening over time.
ReplyDeleteI totally agree with APB - 1210...I know the family and also know as apb knows, Sam is in Heaven. Let's just stop all the nonsense and pray for the family. They need all of our prayers not all this nonsense that is being written here. APB I know you and spoke with your brother on the phone Friday when this tragedy happened. You and I have talked several times about what a good person Sam was and how much we all loved him. Sam you are in Heaven now but will always be in our hearts. Please, remember the family when you start writing this kind on nonsense and put yourselves in their place before speaking badly about anyone. No one wanted this tragedy to happen. Love & prayers are with Sam's family. jh
ReplyDelete7:16 summed it all up quite well. I am amazed at the comments I read on this blog, but the notion that Davis Ruark had something to do with Sam Vincent's unfortunate accident are WAY over the top. In their convoluted thinking, I guess that the woman who pulled out in front of Vincent's car was hired by Ruark to do that, even if there was a passenger with Vincent. And 7:23, I don't think that Davis Ruark is "breathing a sigh of relief" because a competitor--his long-time friend and associate--had been so tragically removed from the scene. I suspect that Ruark has had much on his mind this past weekend besides that! Good grief, can you believe these thoughts that people have and then, worse, actually putting them in print?
ReplyDeleteJoe this goes beyond your "normal" scope of things. Allow us to grieve our fallen brother before this circus begins.
ReplyDeleteHave a peaceful journey home Sam.

admittedly, the first thing that wan through my head was just that. however, that is as far as it went...my head. to the people that talk out of their a$$e$, good for you. now go back home and allow friends and family to grieve without stupidity floating about.
