Is Fire Station 2 Falling Apart On Purpose?
This is what the upstairs bathroom at Station 2 on Brown and Naylor Street looks like. That fine gentleman that Carol Cugler says deserves to be named Fire Chief refuses to let it be repaired. This is definitely negligence as a leader of the Salisbury Fire Department. This bathroom has been deteriorating for quite some time now and the roof developed a serious leak from the Blizzards of February 2010. They refuse to have any repairs done to this building because it is their way to justify spending another $10 million of tax dollars to get a new fire palace. This plan has been orchestrated by Gordy, Hoppes and See for quite some time now. Ireton needs to do his job and get rid of those clowns now!! The longer you let a building go without repairs the worse it deteriorates and costs to much to fix. And the Daily Times says Hoppes has been "holding the department together" for a year now? What a joke. This building is falling apart!!
Of course Hoppes and Gordy are letting that building fall apart. They have plans to build a slightly smaller version of the fire palace on Cypress Street. It is identical and the architect prints are hanging on the bulletin board at fire station 2. Can you guess how much those plans cost the city alone. Jim Ireton and the city council need to take a tour of that building to see the condition it is in. It is in that condition only because of neglect on the part of Rick Hoppes and Bill Gordy.
ReplyDeleteSo rather than b*ching, why don't the volunteers or heck even the career people sitting around all day go fix it? What's 2 peices of lumber, some cauking/grout, maybe 1 or 2 tiles and some paint cost? What's no one there know how to do carpentry?
ReplyDeleteThis is the problem, they all want to sit on their as*s and have the city paying them for it.
You should see the ceiling in the bathroom at Station 2, it is leaking bad and they refuse to fix it. It is definitely a fire hazard and needs to be fixed. If this was a commercial bussiness in Salisbury BHZ would be fining them or shutting them down.
ReplyDeleteAnon 10:02 AM you are missing the whole point you idiot. No one is b*tching. The point is the two ranking officers, Gordy and Hoppes, are are allowing city property to detiorate. IMHO this should be considered destruction of property and they should pay the consequences for their actions. This is neglect at it's best.
ReplyDeleteGordy has instructed Hoppes not to repair anything at Station 2. The master plan prohibits it because they want the city to build a new firehouse. They did the same at the old fire station downton. Firemen were told not to repair anything so that they could show the council the need for a new fire station. Its been done with equipment, apparatus and stations. Its gordys idea but Hoppes is ultimately responsible. Its the game of politics in the Bury.
ReplyDeleteIn my day that little problem was corrected that day. We went to C&P Hardware, got the supplies and the paid guys fixed it. The guys working there now say they have been told to let it go. Gordy is the facilities manager and he told them to leave it alone. The other two stations dont look like this. You dont have to be to smart to figure out whats going on here.
ReplyDeleteYou 'people' would complain that they are spending money to fix the place... Bunch of freakin cry baby complainers!
ReplyDeleteIreton are you listening!! Bad Medicine and Retired Fart are correct. This is what is happening in the Salisbury Fire Department to justify getting new equipment and buildings. These old buildings and fire truck will last forever if taken care of. You idiots at the GOB have been duped over and over again.
ReplyDeleteThey fired two paid guys for what they called misappropriation of city property when it was a harmless prank. They let this building deteriorate which will cost thousands and its OK. There is a serious problem here.

This is from someone who thinks it's ok to let a building deteriorate instead of making simple repairs!
My guess is this is someone from the Gordo/Hoppes Klan or either of them themselves. Buh Bye!!
instead of constantly washing their vehicles during downtime, the fireman should be doing general upkeep. problem solved.
ReplyDeletelooks like a run down gas station bathroom. YUCK!
ReplyDeleteIf the conditions are so bad and unsafe at station 2 then shut down the career staff there and let them run out of station 1 all week instead of bouncing around like they are. The vollies at 2 could run out of 16 (since 16s vollies barely get out) and station 2 could be shut down until a new one is built
ReplyDeleteRemember Citizens There Is No Duty Crew At Station 1 Today Due To Lack Of Funding From Our Council And Mayor. If You Have An Emergency There Could Be Delays In Service.
ReplyDeleteIn that last picture you see black stuff running down the tile. That is from the roof leaking every time it rains. It needs to be repaired very quickly or it will be gone forever. That building is a big part of Salisbury's history and it needs to be preserved. Who ever is responsible for that needs to pay for it.

That was another stupid decision from Wannabe Chief Hoppes and Wannabe Deputy Chief Bragg.

Yeah, I heard Bubba Logger on Engine 16 today. Yinnngiinnn 16. What a joke that clown is!!
This is NOT Gordo's fault.
ReplyDeleteWhat kind of person lets a building fall apart? Don’t you people have any pride these days? When I worked there we fixed things every day and we couldn’t someone who knew the trade came out to fix it. My how things have changed.
ReplyDeleteWhat is this prank everyone keeps referring to?I missed something.

Well Einstien please tell us why it's not Gordo's fault and who's fault is it?
3:51, then whose is it?
ReplyDeleteI would like to appreciate you guys for sharing useful comments with us.
ReplyDeleteThe paid maids are to busy chowing down at 5 Guys Burgers to do any real work! Ride by there at lunchtime and tell me what you see. I've never seen a town/city where the firefighters can be found at local eateries so much. I'm sure the restaurants are either giving them food or a huge discount. That's fine but I guarantee you the hogs are taking advanatage of it.

5 Guys! That's a new one. Hopefully the new fire chief will be able to weed out the few trouble making vollies from the Gordo Camp. You guys need to learn to get along and do your job or get out of the department. You won't be hard to figure out.
