Mayor James Ireton, Jr., releases State of the City report. It can be found on the City’s website under "Message from Mayor Ireton". http://www.ci.salisbury.md.us/
Or a copy can be obtained from the Mayor’s Office.
well Jimmy let me save you the time. The City is a mess. A year has passed and no help has arrived as promised. Crime is out of control and its no fault of either Chief Webster or Barkley. The City attracts thugs because it is run down and loaded with rentals. This is a breeding ground for crime. Your beloved college turns loose its drunken children into our neighborhoods to create havoc for our police and citizens. Basic city services of police, fire, ambulance and public works are understaffed and underfundeed. Your entire foundation is crumbling and your doing nothing as far as I can see. Salisbury is a mess to be honest with you and its not going to get better. We can only hope the county obsorbs us a Sheriff Mike Lewis comes to the rescue.
I wonder if there will be an discussion on the fire chiefs position. Something has got to be done soon. Hoppes and Gordy continue to waste city tax dollars.
Hoppes and Bragg just allowed a firefighter to go back to work on light duty after surgery on his neck. He was put in maintenance and suppy along with another fire officer. He complains about being bored and plays games on the computer all day when he is not out back smoking cigaretttes with Dru Bragg. He is going to be on light duty for 6 months to a year. This was not a work related injury and he should not be given light duty for 6 months to a year. This is a waste of good money paying this guy to just show up. He should just use his sick time. Oh wait, that can't happen, he doesn't have any sick time because he abused all of it.
I would love to know, why some city employees received very large raises, and some have seen none in the past several years. If the money they got to work with is the problem, then why didn't no one get raises, in order to put a hault to the furlough days? If others in the city have to take furlough days, so should everyone. Its not right to give raises to some, and then make the others lose money. The rest have families to take care of as well. Something needs to be done, if you can give raises that where given and everyone else will lose money from there checks and have to take the furlough days. I find it very messed up, and very unfair!

ReplyDeleteThe Mayor has decided not to renew Richard Insley, Jr. position on the housing board.. That's one good thing he has done for the city.
ReplyDeleteHow can furloughs effect salaried employees unless they are asked to work more hours for the same pay? Seems fair to me.
