Since The Wicomico Board Of Education Won't Tell You, I Will

The regularly scheduled BOE Meeting tonight has been rescheduled for some time during the day today instead. Everyone from the BOE wants to be present in masses to Rick Pollitt's Budget Meeting tonight at the Civic Center, as if the Teachers and Staff will be able to make a difference.

Maybe Mr. Thompson can get up there again grandstand, yelling at everyone in the room to "SHUT UP" as if he was some kind of tough guy. Me personally, (if it were legal) It made me feel like smacking the guy around because he was treating everyone with NO RESPECT. Like a THUG. Like a KID who gets suspended because he's out of line and out of order.

It should make for a fun evening. When I get the time of the rescheduled meeting, (the BOE refuses to put it on their Website) I'll post it.

UPDATE: The meeting will be open to the public at 1:30 PM.

  1. Shut up, Joe. You know "its for the kids." Thompson is on some power hungry ego trip hoping to get a job in the system.

  2. If the BOE is worried about the budget then someone needs to ask them why they are paying 12 parttime employees FULLTIME BENEFITS??

Is Jim Ireton one of the 12 part time employees getting full time benefits?

  4. Joe big news all teachers were told no pay cuts or furloughs. This is good info. Wow they sit back and watch other lose jobs and pay. People it is on like Donkey Kong. W.T.F.

The rest of the county is in the second year of furloughs.

Thanks Norm Conway you are awesome !! Way to look out for you and yours.

    Thanks Slick Rick!!

  6. The public meeting tonight is the council's meeting, not Ricks. I see Connie Strot an Bill McCain sitting together there. Strot is Rick's campaign manager and McCain is Rick's mouth piece for education and on the council. And the man isn't even going to run again...just a one termer.

  8. Ok- That makes perfect sense. Furlough teachers and pay a substitute to take over the class to babysit your children. Just like the detention center guards. Sure they got furloughed, but are paying overtime to other guards to have enough staff on duty. Some of you need to think before you make stupid comments.

  10. there are a lot of problems at the board. how did people get their jobs? keep them? how professional are they at work and in personal lives? might be surprised! just an observation.

  11. 4:44 - Teachers are paid for 190 days. Kids go 180 days by MD law. Sounds to me like there are 10 days to play with in furloughs without having to get substitutes.

  12. Only in Wicomico County is it OK to talk about the Education Budget paying for road repairs. Shame on you city council.

  13. Two PR people for a county this size?? Waste!! They can't keep their stories straight--the asst. supt. had the Board workers build his fence but on the weekends (story told to Board), teacher and students put up gate in Bill Cain's neighborhood on the weekend (told to GA Harrison for this blog), or Bill Cain sent Board workers on Board time to build his fence (truth). Thinking up that many lies keeps lots of people busy.
