Mayor Ireton, PRACTICE WHAT YOU PREACH!

"The Bricks," directly across the street from Code & Compliance.

Rails ready to fall down and parts already falling off.

Weeds growing up the building.

Need I say more?

In the last two photos, what's missing is a structure bearing support beam that isn't even there. Code & Compliance wrote me up for wires, (not live) exposed on my building, yet look what they have exposed on "The Bricks."

If you, (as Mayor) want to go after others, mind your own property first and set an example. Would you like me to go inspect the $2 Billion worth of property the City owns? I'm sure Mr. Leer and SAPOA would be more than happy to provide me with a list of those properties. Let's just see where the City stands.

Oh, that's right, I forgot. The City has an "INTERNAL MORATORIUM" for the Good Old Boys. Be careful Mayor, the ice just got a whole lot thinner and you may want to learn from the former Mayor, former Police Chief and former Warden, Joe Albero is NOT someone you want to mess with.

  1. How dare they give out violations to others when their own house isn't in order.

  2. Be careful Joe!

The good ole boys network don't refer to themselves as the good ole boys.

You are great at exposing crime and conflicts of interests. This "network" is very powerful.

  3. This property should be sold to the highest bidder.

  4. Typical government, the rules and laws doesn't apply to them. They pick and choose who to prosecute and always exclude themselfs. Sounds like congress to me.

  8. I can go on and on about the lack of leadership in our country, from the President all the way down to small town mayors. It is truly lacking.

We wonder why our children think that rules don't apply to them, it's because that's what they see all around them. It's the old saying, "Do as I say, not as I do".

Leaders are suppose to set the example for how we live by doing themselves first.

I long to see people step up and lead with morals and values. Until then, we will only have the same broken system we have.

My Christian teachings have taught me to serve others first. When you serve others, you do so with a humble and unsellfish heart.

  9. You missed the pigeons that are roosting in the upper left corner of the building (Isabella Street side - I forget what that fancy trim is called, they actually go behind it into the building)

If you ask them, it is all the state's fault because the state didn't grant them the money they needed to rehab. Nice of them to accept the building before thinking about how they would pay for repairs, huh?

  14. Hey Joe, Suggestion here... I would continue to go around and a scheduled basis and take photos like the ones above... Gather as much info and prove that you can... Then when C&C comes knocking again take them to court with all of your documentation which can clearly show C&C is really out to get you which is biased and actually considered not just harassment but also profiling becasue they are watching you for mistakes but let every other UN-upkeep-ed buildings fall and receive no fines...

  15. Typical arrogance of the government...the code & compliance dept also uses their powers to retaliate against those whom they have personal issues with....I sued one of the people in that dept for an unpaid debt and within a day or so, the business where I work was cited for some deficient siding and now are constantly being cited for grass, trash against a fence (from a ghetto apt complex next to it) etc. We've even been cited for graffiti that we paint over immediately, but is tagged again right away. It's like they go there every day just to check on that. The police just can't seem to find the time to investigate or patrol that area (busy with "checkpoints" and seatbelt campaigns, I guess) I am doubly upset by the citations because within 3 blocks, I could literally find dozens of violations/infractions that are (apparently) left unnoticed. Citizens lose respect for a government that hammers them over things they exempt themselves from, and use their powers to take out personal vendettas. I would not be surprised if they soon made a law that said you were now responsible for the roads in front of your house and business. Don't laugh --- one of the code officers actually tried to cite my friend for grass growing out of a crack IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD. Our country, from top to bottom, is in control of such a bunch of selfish, arrogant, imbecile, and delusional people that I'm not sure we can recover...we are in deep deep trouble. keep slamming 'em, Joe...most of us don't have the resources and kajones to fight the authorities and power they wield so relentlessly, but we absolutely love to see you working 'em over. Power to ya, baby!

As you all know, I vehemently opposed the original proposal for a $1,000,000 from the state for various reasons. The state turned them down and I fell to Barrie Tilghman's wrath. No matter - right is right and wrong is wrong. This last proposal was for the whole $1,800,000 and it was turned down. Grant money is not "free" money but our tax dollars. The City has no business in the real estate business. They should auction it off and get it back on the tax roll. Apparently, the City cannot keep it up according to their own standards.

  17. Joe, I read this and thought about Mrs. Smith congratulating Debbie Campbell Monday night for getting accepted to some kind of program at Harvard.

Mrs. Smith, who signed the Bricks contract without approval of council. Debbie Campbell, so good at housing issues she gets into Harvard.

Now what has Debbie Campbell said about the Bricks vs. Louise Smith said about the Bricks? Those dumb bunnies on council keep ignoring Mrs. Campbell about housing! Code and Compliance should fine Mrs. Smith for the Bricks.

  18. Where is the building number? That one is for you Joe.

  19. I think the city should take this building and convert it to their Government Office Building. Makes good sense to me.

  20. Wow! Great job of exposing these hypocrites Joe! Keep it up! Double standards.

  21. Joe you should do a story on this "Historic" property that belongs to the City of Salisbury and suggest that this be renovated for the City Government Office Building. This would be great to get them out of the Wicomico County Government Office Building.

We the Tax Payers are sick and tired of Jake Day, Jim Ireton and the City Clowns freeloading off of us.
