My opinion is, ALL elected officials should have term limits. I do not think America, States, Counties or Towns would be in the shape they are in if all elected offices had term limits in place.
the only reason for term limits would be because the electorate became LAZY; ILL INFORMED; UNEDUCATED and CLUELESS. oh my; this is where we are today....
the "sleeping giant" is beginning to awaken; so maybe there is hope for our country; locally; statewide and nationally. STAY INFORMED AND VOTE !! if we do that we don't need term limits.
It looks like the one we have may find his term limit is up. If so, the voters decide. That's the way it should be, vote to get them out, or keep them in, except at the federal level. The writers of our Constitution envisioned citizen legislators, not career legislators. And yes, I support the Constitution. I only wish some that get elected did.
If more than 50% of people would register to vote and actually show up at the polls every 4 years and vote for the best candidate for the job, this wouldn't even be an issue.
All elected officials should have term limits. You leave the private sector, you serve 12 yrs max, the main word being SERVE, then back to the private sector.
all elected offices should have term limits similar to that of the presidency. 10 years max
ReplyDeleteNot if the person is doing a good job and has no medical issues that could cause him/her to not perform 100%.
