Mail Delivery Issues

Joe,

I would believe you and the readers may like to know this. About 2 weeks ago I did not receive the pay stub, that has been mailed for 3 years, And the next one 2 weeks later! So I had a track able order going through the USPS. The first one about 2 weeks ago came fine. BUT yesterday I tracked it and it said undeliverable.

BOTH addresses WERE Confirmed correctly. My jobs checks were always there.

Well I spoke with someone at the USPS over on Route #50 in Salisbury. She stated that the mail carrier has been fired and that we need to place notes in our mailboxes for them. The USPS person was very nice. BUT how many readers here in the Area have not received mail they were waiting on?

I was told this carrier was fired, fine, But what did they get away with? Something sure is fishy about this I sure hope that the person who I spoke with is correct, and that something like this does not happen again. Just wondering how many people were removed from addresses?

  1. While I understand your frustration, I've had my share of those with USPS, you should know that personnel matters are private and she/he is not allowed by law to disclose the reason for anyone's termination.
For you to expect to know this information is just not right.
It doesn't matter why the person was fired, what matters is that your mail issues are straightened out. The reason for the firing will not remedy your problems.

  4. If that's all you have to complain about, consider yourself blessed!!! Many people around here (including my family) are struggling month to month to pay their bills and put food on the table and you are complaining about your mail. Wow.

  5. Once you get by your 90 probation period, you are pretty much protected by the Union for life. Only a serious infraction will get you fired. Things such as tossing undelivered mail into the trash or stealing mail come to mind. Fortunately, this happens very infrequently and by a very small minority.

My wife delivered mail years ago. I once found a letter under the car seat that looked like it had been there for 6 months. I dropped it in the mailbox.

  6. I find mail in our neighborhood often just randomly delivered and often neighbors go ahead and deliver it for the carrier. Some folks just throw incorrectly mail away. With the prices they charge and the unreliable level of service it's easy to understand why most people receive and send important stuff either on line (direct deposit, bank bill pay and the like) or use UPS or FedEx instead.

  7. Dear Mail Delivery Problem,

I two have had my mail wait for days, in bags, to deliver. More than that, when I get threw, or it went off a cliff. Recently, I quit waiting and all my mail came in a box. So since I didn't have to wait any more, I called the postal and they said I would like to be fired. I mailed a box last week, but I never seen it again and then I found it under the rug.

Just wanted you to know you're not the only one of us out here.

  11. Uh, Al, your wife has been retired a long time. There have been no 90-day probationary periods for a decade. Only temporary employees are hired now. No guarantees. This is a bogus post Albero. No one discusses firings over the phone, and like I said which you refused to print, there have been NONE in Salisbury. A call to the post office would have confirmed this as bull----. Why didn't you make it. Too easy to print lies????

  14. I am the original Poster. I don't Post stuff here at all, so Excuse my post if you did not understand.
1-I was informed by my employer, that the checks after being delivered for alomost 3 years were returned as addresee unknown/Undeliverable
2- I verified with my employer and the address was not wrong at all
3-I called the main PO on Naylor and route #50 and was told out of 5 persons who receive mail at the address, only one was NOT on a forwarding sheet ( I don't know where that came from)
4-I was told to place a letter in the box and the PO will fix this issue.
5- I was told "we are extremely sorry, there was a mail carrier who was randomly doing this ( I don't know why, That is what she said) and she stated to me that the carrier is no longer working for the USPS.

I have a new carrier, and now it seems in one day that the USPS in Sals,MD has fixed it. I just posted the original post, trying to alert readers here, in case they are waiting for mail in the S/E area of the city. That is what I was told, no matter what any of the other replies say. Why would I lie about this? That,, my friends is pretty stupid. But all I did was try to give important information.
So If anyone was or is missing expected mail. there you go!

  15. I think a great idea would to be to try mental telepathy, then you can visualize it and potentially print out a copy of your pay stub through your mouth in between acid hits.

I beg to differ. I worked as a carrier about 4 years ago. Worst job I ever had. They should outsource the Post Office, get rid of the dead wood, and maybe carriers would be treated better.
