-Thousands expected to protest government growth, fiscal mismanagement-
ANNAPOLIS – The Maryland chapter of Americans for Prosperity is urging all citizens to have their voice heard at nine “Tax Day” TEA parties being held across the state today. Beginning last weekend in Solomon’s Island, TEA parties will be occurring throughout the week of April 15th – the last day individuals can legally send in their tax returns without penalty. As a form of peaceful protest to the wild growth of government, thousands of Marylanders are expected to coalesce and send a message to their representatives: Enough Is Enough.
“With the government take over of our health care at the federal level and the gross mismanagement of the state budget, citizens are concerned about the direction of our country,” said Maryland state director Dave Schwartz. “The TEA party rallies are a message to our elected officials: November is coming and if you don’t vote the right way, we will vote you out. I expect to meet hundreds of new activists around the state today.”
For more information and specific TEA Party locations and times, please go to our website: www.MarylandTaxDayTEAParty.com. AFP has also started a petition to alert representatives that if they vote ‘YES’ on freedom-killing legislation, we will vote ‘NO’ on election day. Over 360,000 people have signed the petition thus far at www.NovemberIsComing.com.

I sure am for low taxes and decreased spending but I wish some of you would stop with all the drama. Healthcare has not been taken over by the feds. Hospitals and insurance companies continue to operate as usual. And if you really want to cut spending, how about we stop providing "socialist" healthcare programs like medicare and medicade. And how about we get rid of that extremely "socialist" concept of social security.
