Why PAC-14 Doesn’t Want Someone Representing the Taxpayers

As we predicted long ago, the Rick Pollitt / Barrie Tilghman / Jim Ireton appointed PAC-14 board, led by Phil “Mr. Tax Increase” Tilghman, doesn’t want people like Debbie Campbell and Stevie Prettyman asking questions.  Therefore, Tilghman has asked that both Campbell and Prettyman be replaced.

Of course, Salisbury Council President Louise Smith jumped all over that one; almost immediately calling Campbell and telling her that she would be replaced.  That staunch defender of the taxpayer, Shanie Shields, will be taking her place.

Fortunately for Wicomico residents, Council President Gail Bartkovich has politely told Phil Tilghman to “go to hell”.  Sadly, Tilghman deliberately schedules meetings to conflict with the schedules of both Campbell and Prettyman (must have learned that one from Louise Smith and Gary Comegys).  Needless to say, County Executive Rick Pollitt isn’t taking a stand.  If he was, PAC-14 would be missing the county’s appropriation without the resignation of Tilghman and a couple of other board members.

  2. This is that proverbial "straw" -- ditch the entire new Pac 14 people and have each Council appoint two people and permanent members and let them pick a 5th to be the Chair.

Get Pretl, Tilghman and their sycophants out of there.

And start cutting the money taxpayers donate to PAC 14.

  6. GA . . .you have hit the nail on the head when you stated that there wouldn't be a PAC 14 without Phil Tilghman.

People tend to forget - but when he was in office he would move to fund them and support the concept 100%. Very interesting that after he decides to step down as council president he ends up howboating on none other than . . .you guessed it PAC 14.

  7. You go ahead Mrs. B. I love it!!!
A REAL Council President. Gail is one honest woman with no false fronts. I would have loved to have been "a fly on the wall" for that one.

  9. Surprise, Surprise Big Rick won't make a decision. NOT! He doesn't even have the backbone to uphold the laws during a severe weather event and you want him to take a stand against Prince Phillip? Fat chance of that happening.

  10. Send Joe Holloway back to school. Let him get an education. a vote for him is a vote for more problems in this county if he is in any elected office. Most people know that and his background, and luckily he hasn't a chance in ........ to be county executive.
    Holloway has to go.

  11. Rick is ball-less. Stand for something or you will fall. The charter does not have a description of "puppet". He needs to go.

  12. The problem with this type of organization is that the members don't answer to anyone, especially the people who vote. And this includes you, Liz. We have known each other for years but I have been watching for a far at this board and your actions to deceive the public but still expecting my tax dollars to pay the freight. I am disgusted and appalled at the arrogance of this group of people. Rick, cut Pac 14 totally from the budget. If you don't, pressure will be put on the council to totally cut all funding. I have never known of more outrageous situation.

  13. I am not surprised with any of this nonsense. My question: Is PAC 14 really necessary? If I want to know what's going on at the city level I go to their meetings. I am a busy person and don't have time to watch it on cable. Furthermore,
my brother lives in Allen and he can't even get it there. Is this for a select few to promote their egos? And, how can a appointed body request elected officials to be replaced. Something is wrong here.

  15. 6:10 Blow it out of your A$$. Joe may not have an advanced education but he comes from the school of common sense and hard knocks. He is real and honest and which is more than you can say for the few council members that should be starring on "The Fake and the Asshole".

  16. 6:10, I don't know how much formal education Joe Holloway has, probably not as much as Rick Pollitt, but he does have common sense. He also looks out for us taxpayers. It is he who has taken on the Bd. of Ed. for all of its outrageous wasting of funds. (And, no, I'm not anti-teacher; in fact, I am a retired educator). If we were County Executive, I bet that he would not be in anyone's pocket.

  17. Joe Holloway should stay where he his. He is not County Exectuive material. He is better as a council persoh overseen the Ecetive Branch of the couhty. Pleae Joe run in your district.

  18. Can we get Debbie Campbell or Terry Cohen to run for County Executive?

(Sorry, City, I'm a Countian, and we want your gals!)
