  8. Well, I was seriously considering Florida until the ole man was watching some program with the crazy animals that have been imported and people have turned loose in the wild and are attacking people. So now I am considering staying right here in Delmar, DE. :-)With the wild animals here. LOL

  9. anonymous 11:07, I lived there for a year and it was absolutely beautiful. That was back in 1981 and things were nowhere near as developed as they are today. I lived right next to the SD Zoo in Balboa Park. I could sit on my back deck and watch the planes land at the airport at night, it was really cool. Our Son is stationed close by in the Marines and he loves it as well. The food was to die for! Better check out the cost of living though, it's very expensive.

  21. 10:48 I always heard it was very expensive to live in Talbot County. What are some of your reasons for picking what, to me, was somewhat of a surprise location? respectfully,

    ReplyDelete
  22. Around here, Easton is my top pic. Nicer neighborhoods, lower crime, relatively low taxes, enough shopping to get you through most days, and either Annapolis or Salisbury is 1 hour away so major shopping or even jobs are within the outer reaches of an acceptable commute.

I like the idea of living across the bay, too. Central Anne Arundel County has more job opportunities than around here, you have access to Baltimore/DC/Annapolis for fun, plenty of adult recreation leagues, major league sports teams, and the cost of living is probably the same given the higher salaries of the region. Delmarva and all that it has to offer is just a few hours away when you miss home.

The comments about San Diego are mostly true. It's beautiful scenery and weather wise, with lots to do, and plenty of jobs if you are college educated. But the cost of living, taxes, commute times, smog, and the fact that CA is the biggest entitlement/welfare state in the country ruin it for me.

  66. i agree with 2:25! 20 years ago this was the best place to live! then came the city folks! now they've turned us into what they wanted to get away from! back then we had plenty of farm land, chicken houses, and CLEAN ponds to swim in! now the farm land and chicken farmers are leaving, and the pollution has come! the gov can say what they want, about farmers polluting our waterways,it just isn't like that at all. it's u dumb ass city folks! there's nothing more refreshing smelling than a chicken house in the early morning!
