SALISBURY! Many things could be improved, but I love my family, neighborhood and many friends. Besides at my age if I moved I wouldn't be able to find my way home.
Well, I was seriously considering Florida until the ole man was watching some program with the crazy animals that have been imported and people have turned loose in the wild and are attacking people. So now I am considering staying right here in Delmar, DE. :-)With the wild animals here. LOL
anonymous 11:07, I lived there for a year and it was absolutely beautiful. That was back in 1981 and things were nowhere near as developed as they are today. I lived right next to the SD Zoo in Balboa Park. I could sit on my back deck and watch the planes land at the airport at night, it was really cool. Our Son is stationed close by in the Marines and he loves it as well. The food was to die for! Better check out the cost of living though, it's very expensive.
This is my country and I'm not leaving it. I do think that there are big changes getting ready to take place here though - if this healthcare thing goes through. Maybe we might have to make some radical changes to make thins country worth living in again.
10:48 I always heard it was very expensive to live in Talbot County. What are some of your reasons for picking what, to me, was somewhat of a surprise location? respectfully,
Around here, Easton is my top pic. Nicer neighborhoods, lower crime, relatively low taxes, enough shopping to get you through most days, and either Annapolis or Salisbury is 1 hour away so major shopping or even jobs are within the outer reaches of an acceptable commute.
I like the idea of living across the bay, too. Central Anne Arundel County has more job opportunities than around here, you have access to Baltimore/DC/Annapolis for fun, plenty of adult recreation leagues, major league sports teams, and the cost of living is probably the same given the higher salaries of the region. Delmarva and all that it has to offer is just a few hours away when you miss home.
The comments about San Diego are mostly true. It's beautiful scenery and weather wise, with lots to do, and plenty of jobs if you are college educated. But the cost of living, taxes, commute times, smog, and the fact that CA is the biggest entitlement/welfare state in the country ruin it for me.
Funny how so many want to leave the shore, yet complain about "implants"! Garrett County is my next move; wanting to experience living in all the elements of MD that is the only trek left.
I would move somewhere warm and near the beach. I would certainly get away from this small town and the antics of all of the hillbillies and dumb hicks .....
I grew up in Pocomoke. My Mom is elderly & lives in Princess Anne so probably right on the Worcester County side of the line out in the country. So I could get to her sooner in the day. I'm completely happy being a Eastern Shore Hickbilly!!!
12:44 Kiss my Eastern Shore A$$. We want to go because the implants are ruining it for the locals. It has changed because of you dumb a$$es that love it here so much want to change it to the slime pit you came from. Go back home Baltimoron.
I have lived on the shore for 6 years and have come to love it. It is rural enough to feel like my roots(Oklahoma), but close enough to things to do. My wife is from the shore and my kids have saltwater in their veins. We will never leave.
12:44 Been to Bora Bora and would be great place to live. But would have to consider St Johns in the Caribbean too. Love San Diego. But Hawaii would be first choice. Damn, Just picked some of the most expensive places Joe, loan me some $$$ jackkcharl@aol.com
i agree with 2:25! 20 years ago this was the best place to live! then came the city folks! now they've turned us into what they wanted to get away from! back then we had plenty of farm land, chicken houses, and CLEAN ponds to swim in! now the farm land and chicken farmers are leaving, and the pollution has come! the gov can say what they want, about farmers polluting our waterways,it just isn't like that at all. it's u dumb ass city folks! there's nothing more refreshing smelling than a chicken house in the early morning!
2:25 This is your destiny! The been here's wanted progress, well you got it, now you complain about it. This area is building in the same way New Castle DE did. So, now here is your own fate. Deal with it, you-all wanted it? Got it
