Text Message Pet Peeve

I don't know about you but I get a lot of text messages. While this newer technology is cool, I can't stand certain things about it and let me explain.

Someone sends me a message asking, Will you be here at 6:00?

I reply, Yes.

They reply, OK

WHY!!!!!!

Why do you people reply with OK! You asked a question, I answered it, then you reply with something completely stupid, in my opinion. Not everyone has unlimited text messages.

I get some of the same things with e-mail too. Someone will send me an e-mail and then 5 minutes later my phone rings, did you get my e-mail? Well, did it bouce back to you telling you it was undeliverable!

No, I'm not at all having a bad day, I really feel this way. That being said, do you get the HINT!

  1. Very rare, but I completely agree with you.

  2. I agree with you as far as texting. Texting is a convenient & quick method to relay a brief message without having to make a phone call.

However, if the texts become lengthy & time-consuming "back & forth" texts, they become annoying and a simple phone call would then be a more appropriate means of communication.

  3. First thing you need to do Joe is to get unlimited text. The reason you get the response of "OK" is to let you know that your text was received. Sometimes texts get lost in space and don't show up for hours, or even days. I have had that problem with several friends. So chill out...calm down, don't stress over the little things in life....save it all for the bigger things! LOL! OK?
Second, I agree with you on the email..but really sometimes emails do not get delivered for what ever reason, can't help you there...by the way did you get my last two emails? LOL! Remember what I said, "Don't stress"! cj

  4. cj, I could really give a rats butt if you got my reply, or not.

If you don't receive a reply back from me, perhaps I didn't get it. Anyhow, only those liars who claim they sent something and they didn't make those claims. Oh, I sent you a text message, didn't you get it. BS! Then there's the old, I left you a message, or, didn't you get my call.

  7. Cant believe that you wouldn't have unlimited text as many as you get. I dont work for verizon but I do have a 16 yr old LOL so you know I have unlimited text and it saved me ohh about $200 buck. Yes we got a bill for $300, you know that was the day I changed our plan to unlimited! LOL and before you know it your grandson will be a teen!

  8. I couldn't agree more with Joe. I have asked my wife repeatedly to knock off the unnecessary text messages. I often end up working unusual hours, and my wife asked me to let her know when I'm on my way home, which I usually do by text. And she always responds with K. Why? If she didn't respond, does she think I would go crazy wondering if she got my message. Also she'll ask me to stop and get things on my way home from work, which I always respond to so she doesn't wig out, but then she feels the need to acknowledge my response. What is wrong with women?

  9. Nothing is wrong with most women; but all men suffer a genetic deficiency.
