Members of Congress were greeted by the N-word and other derogatory epithets on their way to see the president Saturday.
As the ugly side of the we-don't-want-health-care-reform protests came out, the Tea Party activists' behavior left several lawmakers in shock, reported the Huffington Post:
A staffer for Rep. James Clyburn (D-S.C.) told reporters that Rep. Emanuel Cleaver (D-Mo.) had been spat on by a protestor. Rep. John Lewis (D-Ga.), a hero of the civil rights movement, was called a 'ni--er.' And Rep. Barney Frank (D-Mass.) was called a "faggot," as protestors shouted at him with deliberately lisp-y screams. Frank, approached in the halls after the president's speech, shrugged off the incident.

ReplyDeleteThese types of actions take away from the seriousness of this movement. It plays into the hands of those who wish to dismiss us as extreme nut jobs rather than the concerned citizens that we are. After last nights vote the real battle is just beginning.
ReplyDeleteBe aware that these are only unproven accusations. Available videos record no inappropiate words.
ReplyDeleteWe were there when Lewis and his gang walked by. The croud was chanting "KILL THE BILL" very loudly. Nobody could have heard anything else.
The opposing party also has been known to "plant" people in a protest to stir the pot, so to speak. Just saying.
ReplyDeleteThis sounds like Rahm Emmanuel
ReplyDeleteI don't believe it happened. I think this is MSM sensationalism to help justify the passage of the bill that is America's downfall. I also think Margo may be on to something. If the angry opposition was really guilty of these accusations then why is it just now occurring or being reported?
ReplyDeleteGood Bye America as we used to know it! We are now a doomed nation.

You are either a liberal or a soft conservative. If you are soft you might as well join the liberal party.
Deny and excuse it all you want but when a Republican is overheard calling one of the shining knights for pro-life a baby-killer, people like me will not join the Tea Party even though I agree with many of its points.
ReplyDeleteSinking down to violent comments and saying wah wah wah the other side does it does not improve things. I am embarrassed by the way Americans talk to each other on both sides!
9:35,
ReplyDeleteSo you believe that these actions show the tea party in a good light. You are an idiot and a lot of the reason the tea party will go nowhere.
the black caucus was recording the entire "walk by" , if you watch the video you can see that they all had their i phones out recording the event, this was a set up and those twisted democrats wanted to be spat on and wanted to be called names so that they could play the victim race card, we were there, and no one called them the N word and no one spat on them, if it had happened you would see the cell phone video on every channel on the planet

ReplyDeleteyou sound like a progressive(Communist who is afraid to admit it) who will crush anyone who gets in your way (kinda like what congress did last night)
Disgusting. The once great Republican party has been hijacked by kooks, racist, homophobes and wingnuts. Hope you are all happy. I for one am embarassed to call myself a Republican today. This is inexcusable.
ReplyDeleteWell, they both are.

ReplyDeleteit did not happen, it is the progressive (communist),alinski, left wing, socialists trying to make good honest americans look bad. sounds like you fit the bill
Yup, a left wing plot that's always the answer. Do you read some of the comments on this blog? There are some ignorant people out there.
ReplyDeleteThanks 1:48.
ReplyDeleteYes, to all the deniers, check the comments on this blog alone. Tea partiers and other conservative groups, you are allowing what should be a spirited factual debate to be hijacked by the loons who simply hate anything Obama, Democrat, or just doesn't agree 100%.
