  2. I don't blame you one bit for not committing yourself to a weekly TV show. I congratulate you for realizing that there is more to life.

After all - your news organization has already overwhelmed and 'taken the hill' from The Daily Times. Their ratings are at an all time abysmal low while yours has catapulted into a league of own.

If there is anyone who deserves a break its you.

    Beazer.

  5. For a change of pace I switched and watched WMDT news tonight. Every single story they told was right here on Salisbury News today. I love the fact that I can come back here after watching the other news channels and watch your show any time I like. By the way Joe, they didn't have the seal story.

  7. Joe, I read the Daily Times article in Sunday's paper. Either I read a different article or I interurpted it wrong. I do not think the Daily Times implied the ferry cost #300,000 a year to operate. If my memory serves me right it said the White Haven Ferry AND the Upper Ferry would soon be removed for maintenence which COULD cost up to $300,000. It did not imply each ferry would cost $300,000.
The article did mentioned that Somerset County was billed quarterly for 1/2 the expenses plus 1/2 of major overhauls. I cannot argue overtime with you because I do no know how many operators are involved for seven day a week service for the two ferries, but I do know the ferries will operate 3 1/2 hours a day less this summer or 24 1/2 hours less a week. 24 1/2 X 2 ferries = a savings of 49 hours per week in wages. That would equal a nice chunk of change in savings. Please read the article again and tell me what i am not understanding.

  8. just to keep in in the top article- these are the comments I left on Congressman Kratovil's email. I'm out of town on business, but I wish I could be near his office in time to deliver them myself:

    Congressman,
I wrote earlier today to congratulate you for the reasoned approach to the health care debate that you've portrayed in the media. It has been printed in certain media sources that you might change your mind and go along with the reconciliation process currently being employed. I cannot urge you strongly enough that this tact will lead to unforeseen costs and burdens not only on your constituents, but on future generations of Americans. The budget tricks being played in this legislation will prove to have the exact opposite effect than the advertised agenda of the bill. If you decide to vote for party politics over the stability of our government for our children and descendants, then it will be my unfortunate obligation to work with my voice, wallet and all means at my disposal to remove you from office and help repeal this affront to our country.

    Regards,
