BREAKING: Seven Arrested In FBI Raids Linked To Christian Militia Group

At least seven people, including some from Michigan, have been arrested in raids by a FBI-led Joint Terrorism Task Force in Michigan, Ohio and Indiana as part of an investigation into an Adrian-based Christian militia group, a person familiar with the matter said.

The suspects are expected to make an initial appearance in U.S. District Court in Detroit on Monday.

On Sunday, the FBI confirmed that federal law enforcement agents were conducting activities in Washtenaw and Lenawee counties over the weekend in connection to Hutaree, a Christian militia group. FBI Special Agent Sandra Berchtold told The Detroit News the federal warrants in the case are under court seal and declined further comment.

Sources have said the FBI was in the second day of raids around the southeastern Michigan city of Adrian that are connected to a militia group, known as the Hutaree, an Adrian-based group whose members describe themselves as Christian soldiers preparing for the arrival and battle with the anti-Christ.

WXYZ-TV reports that helicopters were spotted in the sky for much of Saturday night, and agents set up checkpoints throughout the area. Witnesses told the station that it was like a small army had descended on the area. The Department of Homeland Security and the Joint Terrorism Task Force are also involved in the raids.

Mike Lackomar, of Michiganmilitia.com, said both The Southeast Michigan Volunteer Militia and the Michiganmilitia.com were not a part of the raid.

Lackomar said he heard from other militia members that the FBI targeted the Hutaree after its members made threats of violence against Islamic organizations.

"Last night and into today the FBI conducted a raid against homes belonging to the Hutaree. They are a religious cult. They are not part of our militia community," he said.

Lackomar said he was told there were five arrests Saturday and another five early Sunday. The FBI declined to comment.

One of the Hutaree members called a Michigan militia leader for assistance Saturday after federal agents had already began their raid, Lackomar said, but the militia member -- who is of Islamic decent and had heard about the threats -- declined to offer help. That Michigan militia leader is now working with federal officials to provide information on the Hutaree member for the investigation, Lackomar said Sunday.

  1. These so-called "Christian" militias (the article also calls them "Christian soldiers") give true Christianity and patriotic Americans a bad name. Their belief system is based on bad theology that is rooted in Aryan teaching of Nazi Germany.

I'm afraid that they will someday be the cause (read "excuse") for the government to come for all our guns.

  2. I'm just reading this, and first heard it had something to do with selling pipe bombs, but now that more is known, these people are being arrested on their BELIEFS.

Let's all think about this for a moment.

What if any of us could be arrested because of our "beliefs"?

  3. 807 is confused, drink from the Kool-aid pitcher my friend! Do Not believe what you are being told by the Washington Thugs to begin with.
When the G-Man comes after private citizens who have been accused of making a threat to a Terrorist Organization, this is serious business.
These Islamic Organizations can do whatever they chose and no attention is ever called to them.
    Beware of the Anti-Christ!

  5. Okay, and these guys are a little whacko, but where is the crime here? There is nothing stated as to what this group did to warrant a helicopter FBI raid?

  9. 8:07 that's why this was reported the way it was. This report was manipulated by the Government and the MSM. This whole ordeal isn't even over yet. Think about it. Who in the hell sells pipe bombs? They are way too easy to make with directions available on-line using gunpowder you can purchase and Gander Mountain. What idle threat brings out the FBI and DHS? This is the PROPAGANDA portion of this. The government will play this up to garner support of the people and they will do what's necessary to pit one militia organization against another. They will take over websites belonging to militia's and put propaganda on them as well. Look for these things to happen very soon as it is necessary for propaganda to be woven into the fabric of their offensive against militia's while implementing the "divide and conquer" tactics so easily identified in any government action against anyone or anything that opposes it.

Go listen to militiaradio.com and you will hear up to the minute reporting on the incident as it unfolds. There are roughly 100 operatives out there right now. They reported earlier of approximately 4% of these troops had personal communication problems due primarily to equipment failure resulting from inadequate time necessary to check the equipment prior to rolling out. Don't let them fool you into thinking that the government responded in order to stop a Christian group from carrying out a threat on an islamic group think for yourselves and don't let them tell you what to think.

Joe the first report you put up was the accurate one. It was the report put out before the government had the opportunity to change it. They were local reporters reporting what they were told by local people. Now who do YOU believe. Do you believe local people or the government who also tells you the economy is getting better, unemployment is at 9.2%, and government run healthcare wil provide better quality care at a lower cost?

  10. Still there are 35 known muslim terrorist training camps within the borders of the U.S. and they are protected by the constitution...according to the FBI.

CHRISTIAN milita members in Michigan are rousted and arrested for allegedly making threats against islamic organizations.

How very convenient that Jesse Jackson is in Detroit this weekend.

  14. Not to mention the F.B.I. raided while this militia was in mourning for one of their people who had just passed away. What a great time to go and search houses for unknown reasons because no one has seen the warrant for these raids. Sounds a little like illegal search and seizure to me. I am not advocating their group but what the Feds have done is attack a faith based group. The problem is that if they can go after these guy's without unveiling the documents that say they have the courts approval whats next? I am a Christian and believe in the truths in the Holy Bible and I own firearms the Feds can screw that around in such a way that makes me a threat, although I have never threatened anyone and will never do that. If they have hard evidence on this group then why must they try and keep all of this secret, The answer is unknown at this time but in the end I am sure they will be able to dream up some real charges.
Look out folks you could be the next target and you better be ready.

  19. It is now being reported that they planned to kill police officers then show up at their funerals and kill their family members. Yeah, that's real "Christian."

I agree with the first poster. The belief system of these wackos teaches that somehow *they* are responsible in bringing in the Kingdom of Christ. The Bible teaches otherwise--that things will get worse and worse, then Christ Himself will bring in His kingdom. These people will have no part in it.

  20. The killing of police has already begun. They claim for police brutality.

  21. The first attack by this militia group against US police forces, this reports continues, was the firebombing of 4 police cars in Seattle, Washington (this Regions largest city) on October 22, followed by the ambush killing of a Seattle policeman Timothy Brenton and the wounding of his partner Britt Sweeney on October 31st, and the latest attack which occurred this Sunday past when 4 police officers, Gregory Richards, Tina Griswold, Ronald Owens, Mark Menninger, were gunned down in Lakewood, Washington
