Twelve members of a Rockville volunteer fire department have been suspended after late-night incursions into an apartment building's recreation room and a fire department warehouse this week, Montgomery County officials said Friday. In the latest incident, which happened early Friday, shortly after midnight, three 17-year-old volunteer firefighters were arrested on burglary and theft charges, authorities said. "When things like this happen, it's a black eye for the whole fire service," Assistant Fire Chief Scott Graham said.
Graham said the three tripped an alarm at the fire department warehouse on Dover Road, prompting the arrival of county police and Rockville police. Officers found stacked items just inside the door, indicating that the three were planning to leave with bio suits, a medical evacuation bag, a radio and charger, a flashlight, pry bars, an ax, a pipe wrench, rappelling equipment and a traffic vest, said Rockville Police Maj. Bob Rappoport.

This same situation was going on here in Salisbury. Gordys son was part of a group of young farmin that took anything they could grab, especially leather helmets, haligan bars and hooks. Chief See had SPD investigate and they finally made an arrest. To no ones surprise one of them got tipped off and got away. One paid farmin was also involved and he is no longer with Salisbury. Nothin new.
ReplyDeletefarmin?
ReplyDeleteSounds like they were messing around.chem suits now come on they were going to play a prank or something.
ReplyDeleteGordos kid and three other firemen were nailed for stealin gas a month after they were taken into the vollies. Ya coulda stooped it there but ya kept them. You take in a thief, you get a thief. Your own damn fault.
ReplyDeletesalisbury likes to give second chances no matter what the back ground check reveals.
ReplyDeleteoh the tools in the trunk of your car belong to the city but you just set them there...
Alter-K-Tion,
ReplyDeleteGordo's kid and 3 other firemen were nailed for stealing gas? That's nothing, what about Gordo being nailed for stealing millions of dollars of tax dollars for a $14 million dollar building, 5 new fire trucks, a new fire boat, a new haz mat trailer. Oh yeah, it started with stealing the Crown Vic of the company chaplain and putting a new light package on it for $6,000. Then he put a new $6,000 motor in it before he stole a new Crown Vic from the tax payers. Should the list go on and on? Does anyone else have anything to add to this?
Now Gordo is in hiding down in Florida hoping Hoppes will get the Fire Chief's appointment so he can come back and continue his reign of terror.
What's the deal with the Station 1 volunteers buying everyone brand new leather helmets?
ReplyDelete246 pm are you sure it's not a rumor?

Uh...he would need a clue where to dig, there is a lot of ground to cover.
341 there are boxes of helmets in the rear bay, most of the gear racks have new and old helmets on them. the good thing is after 30 days the helmets become property of the city and can be brought to supply for proper disposal or issue. Times Are Tight, Monies Are Hard, Spend More Its Not Yours.
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately just sounds like a few paid fireman and their make believe union spinning a story into their own agenda against the volunteers.
