"All Schools are operating on a regular schedule." Now you and I both know this isn't going to happen. One has to wonder if they'll wait until 5:00 AM to make that standard phone call to let everyone know School will be closed on Monday.
Come on Mr. Fredericksen, get on the ball for once and let everyone properly schedule their lives.
Apparently the BOE has an endless supply of optimism. I LMAO at that first sentence.
ReplyDeleteIt needs to be known the day before so us as parents can make arrangments for our children.
ReplyDeleteSorry, folks, but do you really need someone to tell you? You, come on. . .
ReplyDeleteI bet no school for days.
ReplyDeleteSorry, but what ia "LMAO"? map
ReplyDeleteParents, use common sense. You should ALWAYS have an emergency plan in effect for your kids. Do you tell your children to always give you 24 hours notice before getting sick. At this point I would think common sense would tell you there will most likely be no school tomorrow, so go ahead and make arrangements for the kids. If there is school what harm has been done. The BOE will make their decision in a timely manner. It will be posted on their web site, the TV. the internet, on Joe's blog, plus you will probably get a phone call. Don't blame the school system for your negligents in not having someone to care for your kids tomorrow. I think the world has much more important problems to solve than the BOE not having changed "operating as usual" by 9 AM on a Sunday morning.
ReplyDeleteso what happens to the days they don't go. They have already used their days in June. Its not the parents or kids fault that it snowed and unsafe to drive in.
ReplyDeleteIt is apparent that school will be closed for the better part of the week, if not the entire week. It would be nice if they would go ahead and announce the Monday and Tuesday closure anyway.
ReplyDeleteOkay, they are quick to close schools when we get a mear 2-3 inches which is why they've used up all their schools day to begin with. And now with 15+ inches of snow on the ground they say operating as scheduled? Who are you kidding! They'll be closed at least till Wed. Maybe in the future they will consider what is really a snow day... a couple of inches or feet! Geez! Unreal!
ReplyDeleteThe decision is Bill Cain's but be patient with Bill. He is still celebrating that the seven members of the Board are letting him "retire" instead of doing their duty. Never let it be said that the WCBOE holds people accountable for their actions.
ReplyDeletesince the govenor declared a state of emergency I wonder if fredricksen is smart enough to ask the govenor to let the kids not have to make up the next few days they are going to miss?
ReplyDeleteThey let us know the afternoon before for the last two storms - they will again. Give it a break people - you know we won't be in school tomorrow, do you really need them to tell you the obvious this early? Duh!
ReplyDeleteIf you have no leaders , you can't make good and quick decisions.
ReplyDeleteSchedule your own lives people. Quit relying on others to tell you what to do and then bash them. There will be no school tomorrow for my children.
ReplyDeleteWas that Wednesday or Thursday he was referencing?
ReplyDeletethere will be no school til spring if this keeps up. lol I would like to return to work sometime this winter but with schools closed, it's not a possibility. I wanted snow, but not this much. lol
ReplyDeletelaughing my a$$ off.
ReplyDeleteMy bet is no school this whole week.
ReplyDeleteThe same should go for Wor-Wic and other colleges as well. WWCC wasn't even closed all week and the parking lot was TERRIBLE. What makes it even worse is that they waited until Monday morning to let us know "school will be operating on a normal schedule". However, they didn't post anything on their website until after 8 a.m. and most classes start at 9. People traveling from Crisfield or anywhere far away from the school leaves home way before 8. WWCC is a 100% transit school; nobody lives on campus and can just walk to class. They really need to get their act together over there and give us students a break for once!
ReplyDeleteIf they missed 3 days last week, it will be that or more this week since they are talking about more snow on Tues or Wednesday. Already planning on my kids being home.
ReplyDeleteI am willing to bet that schools will be closed all week. Especially if any more snow materializes with the storm on Wednesday. I just dug myself out and Rt 13 is still snow covered. Last week Rt 13 was clear and we missed 3 days.
ReplyDeleteTo 9:53 LMAO
ReplyDeletemeans
Laughing my ass off.
John Fredericksen is a worthless POS that the county council and the BOE needs to send back to Minnesota.
ReplyDeleteYou know by now Wicomico Co. BOE won't announce a thing until Somerset does. Every single time there's snow or fog you'll see Somerset announce and soon thereafter see Wicomico announce. Why? Because our board officials are too damn lazy to ride around and look for themselves and too worthless to make a call on their own.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, does anyone except me HATE to hear Fredrickson's announcement in Spanish every time?? If they can't speak English why are they in our schools? ...or in our country for that matter.
Are you kidding me? Look many counties/districts have caleld school for Monday and some Tuesday - get with it already Fredericksen. Why can we not let families know ahead of time - so arrangements can be made???
ReplyDeleteThat's right - it is you making the decisions.
Maybe he is at Hooter's and has yet to see the road conditions in Wicomico County.
Delmar School District closed Monday. Cal received at 1:50 p.m. Sunday.
ReplyDeleteJust cancelled Wicomico County School for Monday the 8th of Feb.!
ReplyDeleteThursday maybee. The lack of county and city plows will keep us out that long.
ReplyDeleteWCBOE says no scools tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteDo you really need a Mr Fredericksen to property schedule your life. People need to learn to take responsibility to schedule their own lives. If that is an impossibility for you than you are not fit to be loose. Use YOUR brain don't rely on others to tell you the obvious. GEEZ.
ReplyDeleteYep, Somerset closed schools tomorrow and 15 minutes later Wicomico did the same.
ReplyDeleteI watch wbal this morning and they are saying no school for the entire week!
ReplyDelete9:53 LMAO = Laughing my (beastie who says hee-haw) off.
ReplyDeleteWhile it might be interesting to see the BOE grow some balls and open schools on a normal schedule, we have more snow and ice on the ground now than we did last week at the same time.
I seriously doubt the schools will open tomorrow.
They are always the last to make a decision.
ReplyDeleteNO SCHOOL TOMORROW AND CENTRAL OFFICE IS CLOSED
ReplyDelete9:53,you must be new to blogging. It means "Laugh My A$$ Off."
ReplyDeleteSchools will be closed all week. If we get what we are suppose to get on tues night and wed. They won't go to school on Thurs because of the roads and what is the use of opening schools on friday for one day.
ReplyDeleteCome on Joe...give him a break. He made the call in plenty of time. Even school offices and central office closed. Most schools not even plowed yet.
ReplyDeleteWhat is the need to call it at 9:15 anyway...gives us plenty of time to hit the beer cave!
its changed now...its closed for students and staff
ReplyDeletewe got our call this evening, but I would have kept my child home anyway, because roads are not safe!
ReplyDeleteDr. Fredericksen joe not Mr. Fredericksen.

10:32 AM
LMAO.... Bill Cain is the Asst. Superintendent that used BOE employees to build a fence for him on County Tax dollars. When someone called him out on it he played dumb and got off scott free. That is stealing folks and that is what the Board of Education has been doing for years.

1:32 PM
YES
I guess Freddy is trying to impress someone with his broken Spanish.
I am sick and tired of him making the announcement in Spanish. I could care less how many Mexican illegal aliens can't speak English. It is not my responsibility to educate them. Send them back to Mexico NOW!!
8:47
ReplyDeleteSay what you will about the "mexicans" and sending them back. However, I find the "mexicans" and their families to have greater family values and respect for education than 3/4 of your "native" families. Also, they are here because no one else will do the work that they do. Most of our citizens would rather collect unemployment and welfare than work for a living.

8:38 PM
Whoopy F'n Doo!!
8:47 you're a fool!! They're here because libs need their votes, it all boils down to that. Family values and education, you gotta be kidding me!! Dirty houses, cars parked all over their yards, no rules for the kids and some of the worst testing scores in school ever. Think before you write boy.
ReplyDeleteTell me something, you do something illegal what happens to you? So what don't you understand about ILLEGAL aliens???
Anyone who doesn't know it's stealing to have county employees work on your private property while they're being paid by the taxpayers is too stupid to be in a position of responsibility. He knew and did it anyway. Why? Everyone knows he's a friend of Dr. F.'s. Why did the Big Board let him get away with it?
ReplyDeleteDid Mr. Cain have to reimburse the county for the hours of free labor used on his fence? I don't think he did. How can we find out?
