  2. Notice there are two presidents (at least one former) present, and both are honoring our national anthem as is expected of a citizen and civil servant.

The same can not be said for our current userper of power.

  4. Thanks for posting this. You'd have no way to know, but there is a fine young lady from Salisbury singing as part of the Naval Academy Chorus. Just happens to be my daughter. :) This was done the year AFTER the "wardrobe" malfunction incident and the word was that the Super Bowl folks wanted a return to some wholesome values and this National Anthem certainly acheived it. I remember watching it on TV and then my phone ringing a couple minutes later as she called me from the field. She said it was unbelievable to be there. God bless all of those young men and women...many who are currently serving or who have already served in harm's way. God bless America.

  7. It was either in 2005 or 2006...not long ago. It was in Jacksonville that year. The mids had to be housed in Savannah and were taken by bus over to the superbowl site. Just as an aside, they were not allowed to stay in the stadium to watch the game but were watching in a tent complete with snacks and tv. I am a music teacher and always focus on making sure all of my elementary kiddos know our National Anthem, what it means and when and why it was written. I also show them wonderful versions like the one above and also some "clunkers". My students are amazed when I tell them my daughter "sang the Nat. Anthem at the Super Bowl"...but you know what the really cool part of that is??? I tell them that maybe one day they will be doing that too. Thanks again for posting this.

  8. It was Super Bowl 39. Five years ago, putting it at 2005.

    Excellent!

    Thanks for this post, Joe!
