  1. Oh, and Folks, be sure to send your kids to school tomorrow with helmets. They'll clearly need them.

  3. What exactly are you implying by "riding the short bus"? Granted that his decision making in all of this is clealry not in the best interest of local families, I think your word choice is in poor taste.

  4. anonymous 1:36, would YOU like to start writing all these Posts for me so we can be perfectly politically correct? I have an opening for 18+hours a day with absolutely no pay. In fact, we don't even charge our costomers to come here and read us every day.

Might I suggest you call 410-749-7171 and ask the Daily Times for a subscription to their daily rag. You see, they tell the news exactly how YOU would like it to be written.

Oh, by the way Sir, DON'T EAT THE BIG WHITE MINTS.

  5. Wow looks like Delmar Elementary. Hmmmm safe learning environment- NO. Safe working environment-NO. What's the point of putting people as risk unnecessarily. I just don't get it.

  17. Lol! So Let's put a bet on how many school buses get stuck on the roads this afternoon, or better yet tomorrow! There were at least eight that I know of today that had to be pulled out, but the roads are safe right? What a bunch of a**holes, let their dumb a$$es get out there and drive in this mess with a bus load of kids, oh wait that's not gonna happen; what was I thinkin? Granted, alot of our school bus drivers are professional and have been doing this for a long time, but that doesn't mean shit when you're driving on ice. Thanks for keeping it real Joe, and allowing others to vent as well=)

  18. Does the good Dr. Fredericksen have school age kids? If so do they attend public school?

  19. 2:25 as you stated, alot of our school bus drivers are professionals and have been doing this for a long time, this is true without a doubt, and I will assume that you are like me,I consider myself a right good driver, and with this being said my point is,that I dont feel that its me or you that I have to worry about while driving in these conditions, its the other moron drivers such as,rookies, the ones on the cell phone, the really really elderly folks that should have thier licenses revolked, the drunk drivers or people that are agressive, tailgating road ragers im pretty sure that you get my point by now. So,like I say,I dont worry about my driving,I worry about those kind of drivers out on the road at the same time as me.Thats what scares me when the roads are in this kind of shape for the kids to be on the buses.PEOPLE BE SAFE OUT THERE, PLEASE!

  27. Hey, I rode the short bus and my mom said I was special!

  28. I watched kids leave a school today that had to walk home. They actually had to climb the plowed snow on Rt. 50 just to cross and had to climb mounds again when they got to the other side. Looked VERY dangerous to me! I believe it was Wi Hi they were walking from to get to what again was probably bad side streets and dangerous to walk.

  29. Hey Joe, Was that the bus that my girlfriend rides? If so I hope she took her helmet today. Pam

  31. its not Haiti people its just a little snow it will be gone soon
you'd think it was molten lava or something
when did kids become so frail they can't trudge trough some snow
    they could use the exercise
I hear all this bitching on this blog about less government and since this snow fall nothing but bitching and moaning about local governments failure to deal with this freak snowfall. Would you really like to pay to have a standby response for an event that happens every forty years. The old timers must be having a chuckle at all the drama

  32. And who picks up the tab for when the tow trucks come bail out the school busses? I hope not the bus drivers who are independent contractors. Does the county get billed? Someone is surely paying for this!

  33. So children and teachers have to walk through that snow to get to their portables? hmmm......wonder if people in district office walked down that sidewalk? That should have been cleared before staff and students returned.
