our bus driver is always on time, and a expert driver. they like to drive fast on icey roads. says it scares the kids, gives them a thrill and keeps them in their seats instead of yelling, and fighting in the isle way. our bus driver says school should be closed so they can go shopping and do things that are relaxing. its hard to drive a bus everyday. it would be nice if the pay was equal to the teachers, also need the retirement plan they have also.
Not sure took my kid to Parkside myself so he did not have to wait out in the cold for the lazy staff to say what time they could come in. Doors are locked at the bus ramp until 10 minutes before classes start. His bus gets there 15 minutes before that.
we would like to see the teachers come in a little earlier and drive the buses. they do a great job in the schools, we would feel safer knowing they were driving the bus. its not like they don't get paid enough. they know whats best for our childern.
Road conditions or not seems like the bus drivers did pretty good keeping everyone safe. I wonder if the bus companies insurance companies have any say in it?
My girl was waiting for the bus and on her walk she slipped and fell on the ice. I make them carry thier cell phones. Thank God! She called me crying I ran up in jammies and all because I had not gotten dressed yet. Carried her home called the b.o.e. while getting dress and took her to the Er. She only sprained her knee. Someone elses child could be next and it could be worse next time. I already told the boe they would be forking this bill.
Why don't people start taking care of themselves instead of sitting back blaming someone else for their problems? If your school bus can't get down your road safely, then drive your child to the nearest clear main road so they can board the bus safely OR take them to school yourself! It's really that simple folks. You don't want the buses on the bad roads but yet at the same time you complain that the bus doesn't pick up your child. You're talking out of both sides of your mouths!
to 1:10pm sorry! hope your child is improving. will lenthy therpy be required in her recovery? i would contact a lawer right away to find out and protect her rights. this may be her ticket to a comfortable life. check around to see if anyone else was injured. a class action lawsuit looks better then one person suit.
OMG, you people have just totally lost it! File a lawsuit? Sue? You wonder what's wrong in this country? That's part of it! Sue Happy People!!!
When do you stop and realize ACCIDENTS HAPPEN! Why do you have to be so quick to blame your problems on somebody else and then sue them for what you can get out of them?
Some of you really make me sick! Let's not pull together and fix the problems, nooooooo....let's sit behind our computers and complain and do NOTHING, so that when somebody DOES get hurt, we can SUE! Pathetic!
That's funny 2:01. You can't spell lengthy recovery or lawyer but you can spell class action lawsuit. God Bless today's America. Maybe you should focus more on what's going on in school classrooms instead of who is falling and getting boo boos waiting for the bus stop.
No problems with the bus. Sounds like a lot of hoopla over nothing. Sorry if your child fell, but that could just as easily happened while playing in the snow like kids do. Maybe instad of being in your jammies, you could have walked him/her if you were that concerned. We just had a historic snowfall, we should expect some disruption to normalcy.
Well this is my 3rd comment about my girl. I guess the other comment wasn't worthy of debate to this site. My girl is fine. I am not going to sue it would be more of a headache than worth it. I am pretty sure my 12 year old doesn't want mommy holding her hand at the bus stop. Like I said it is only sprained, she very well could have fallen any where and have done this.My point is another child could fall and hurt themself alot worse than my kid. That is what my concern is. When is far enough, enough. oh and buzz off about the jammies I have 4 kids if you weren't dressed yet and your kid was hurt I would like to think you would do the samething or maybe you would take the time to dress nice and leave your kid laying on the side of the road somewhere. Guess what? My life is my life not yours so buzz off.
Are you people serious? You're goinig to try and sue someone because your kids don't know how to do simple tasks such as walking? Keep spoon feeding these kids and they will NEVER turn out to be ANYTHING. Remember, they learn by example.
WOW, I keep coming back to this, I've read lazy staff letting kids in untimely, child slipping, jammie mammie calling Board of Ed to tell them the bill is going to be on them, people responding with class action suits and all of you wonder what is wrong in SBY/WICOMICO? HMMMM I knew there was a reason I bought my house in Delmar Delaware and even now after all this time I will not return to Wicomico but Worcester instead.
hey 11:00 your child has the opportunity to go into the cafe before the 10 of bell rings at Parkside. It your childs own fault if they want to stand outside.
11:00 AM commenter - that's great that you were responsible to take your child to Parkside. However, the staff is not lazy to wait until 10 minutes before school started to unlock the doors. Staff in all schools are arriving and prepping for the day.
Students are allowed in buildings at a reasonable time to put away their things, get what they need from their lockers, go to the bathroom, and get to class on-time.
Yes, and right on time.

2:34pm, right on, I'd also like to remind the "Sue Happy" people that if it happened in your yard on your walk or driveway, it's on you.

ReplyDeleteYour life is your life until you decide to share it with people on here!!! LOL
ReplyDeleteThe problem Joe is you were at the wrong bus stop. You wanted the one that says Wicomico County, not Laid/Law.

ReplyDelete4:38: Get a life! Volunteer in a school for a day and maybe you will learn something.

I may be wrong, but I think Anon at 2:01 was being sarcastic.
