600 Comments Today, Our Record Day Was 633

It won't be long before we break our record day in comments as well. I told you that you guys were keeping me extremely busy today. 633 comments was our best day ever.

Bill Duvall must be sitting there thinking to himself, Self, I didn't get that many comments in 6 months, let alone one day. We've come a long way there Bill/Self.

Thanks for participating folks. Maybe the Daily Times will look at these numbers and realize they don't get this volume of comments in a total month either. Why, because we're real time. Because we share information our readers want to know about, not articles with an agenda for Gary & Louise.

Times have changed and if there's one thing I have learned about referencing the difference between the MSM & Blogs it's the fact that MSM Reporters have yet to survive in the Blogging Industry, yet Bloggers are taking over the MSM. Go figure, right Folks. They complain about how we're not Reporters/Journalists, yet we're beating them hands down as one man shows.

After today's numbers, I'm convinced the Daily Times is toast. In fact, I recently learned they're not even printing their own newspaper any more. I'm told they're farming the work out with another Printing Company and not even using that $3,000,000.00 Press to print their daily paper. Very Interesting!

  6. I find this rewardingly funny how a one man show can overpower a corporate newspaper. I love it! It goes to show you what passion and hard work can do. Joe you are such a role model....whether they love you or hate you, you are definitely successful. The key is not only hard work, but being true to your beliefs in the risk of losing and being strong enough to keep your head up. Thee best leadership the eastern shore could have. You are probably the most valuable human asset the honest citizens have in this community, and I truly believe that you are the way, the truth, and the light that has been needed forever here. Please continue to share the love.

  10. Hey Joe, be sure to post the final number of comments. After all, you know the new Dirty Dozen (aka green with envy clan) are holding onto hopes that the record won't be broke. I for one will do all I can to make sure it's smashed!

  11. Joe, after reading your blog tonight and since you mention the Daily Times article, I have to say this:

Louise Smith and Gary Comegys should resign. NOW! And apologize. Lynn Cathcart should apologize too.

I read today's Daily Times and just about spit out my coffee.

They have not only insulted the mayor, but every single person out there working their hearts out to deal with this once in a lifetime event.

Everyone else (you and so many others) have been helping others and trying to stay positive.

Those three crabs have done NOTHING except point fingers and complain.

Let them get out in this weather and do what my husband has. Then they can run their fat yaps.

  12. Check this out. In 2008 I got tired of yhat daily rag having that bagged advertisments thrown in my yard every Tuesday. Over several months during the summer I made 17 telephone calls speaking to secataries, cir. managers, etc. They all said that it stop. After the 17th call it stopped.I finished the 08 and 09 yr. without being bothered again. Now in Feb. 2010 its started again.I have made two calls now and both supervisors ive talked to have same the samething, That the carriers have list where not to leave the litter papers.I told the last one this time if the litter paper is not stopped I would be contracting the Sheriffs Office to file a complaint about the Daily Rag littering my property. Thanks for letting me my dissatification with this piece of garbage.

  15. 11:53 I agree with you 100%. I have not heard from anyone I know in Salisbury about seeing either of those three stooges out helping others. While I have heard them say positive things about seeing Jim, the two council women who do real work, Joe & Bruce and others from the Fire Depts out helping people, strangers, neighbors. These storms have shown us the real spirit of these people we thought we knew but now we've seen a special side of them. I for one will not forget about the kindness I received. If they ever call me needing something I won't hesitate to do it. If I can't, I will find someone who can.

  16. I have never been a fan of printed newspapers except for using them to light a fire or back in the stone ages when that was the only place to browse classifieds. In recent years, with the internet media availability so widespread, I am even more against the waste. However, I have supported my husband in what he found an easy way to make some extra money by delivering for the Daily Times. UNTIL this past week!
Sam Oradat and his boss Nikki are pushing these drivers over the edge! He was STILL calling and texting them all night long! He is very upset that some of them were not willing to risk their lives to deliver this waste! He has called my husband repeatedly and my husband clearly told him that he was not going out to deliver newspapers so guess what!?.... Sam Oradat said he is going to drop MORE newspapers off at the end of our driveway! Anyone who would like, is welcome to come get them. I have a hallway full of Sunday inserts (coupons) and stacks and stacks of newspapers from this week at the end of my long, snowed in drive. Please come get one if you want. Morris Leonard Rd.
    Btw...
My husband put in his 30 days notice last week anyway (mandatory or he will lose money.)
