TOMORROW’S TV SCHEDULE – FIRST HERE, THEN THERE

Tuesday offers a political smorgasbord for Wicomico County, starting with the County Council meeting beginning at 10 AM (on PAC-14), and if you do not get that you can always go in person. We may hear why $500 (if shipping is included) trash cans are now a necessity in the courthouse, along with special cherry furniture that cost many thousands more. And maybe Rick Pollitt will tell us why land across the street from the Civic Center is worth much more than the sites that are on the market at the Centre at Salisbury, which is an operating shopping center not a former one that has been vacant for years. And some folks would like to know why all that parking space is really needed.

Then, during the afternoon and evening we can watch what happens tomorrow in the election to fill the seat in the US Senate formerly held by the late Teddy ("the swimmer") Kennedy that his family claims as theirs to control for a liberal agenda. Let’s hope that it becomes "the People’s seat" once again, filled by Scott Brown.

These two different events may have something in common – as harbingers of change. See the preceding posts today about these matters.

What a difference a year can make!

  1. This race is too much fun to watch. Better than most shows on tv for sure. Patrick Kennedy referring to Martha as his good friend Marcia. Martha telling everyone that Curt Shilling possible future Hall of Fame Red Sox was a Yankee fan. Can't spell her state in a campaign ad. Martha states all the Taliban are out of Afghanistan. Wants to be elected to Teddy's seat ( not the peoples seat ). And I just read that the bookies in England are already paying off for a Brown win, saying all he has to do is wake up in the morning. Maybe teddy will get a day off from shoveling coal to celebrate.

  4. Pollitt to Shea:

But its tax dollars, and we've got to spend it so we don't have to give it back.

  5. Brown has to win by 10 points or the Dems will just "find" the votes and steal the election. Regardless, tomorrow will be an awesome day. Win or lose...it's going to be close and that is saying something when we are talking Mass. politics.

    Many, blood sucking parasites.

  6. Ted Kennedy, now that's a laugh. To bad he knew how to swim. I want a trash can.

  7. The "folks" that are wondering why more parking is needed at the civic center are apparently not aware of the activities that occur there, and the tourism dollars the center brings to our economy. The information is available to anyone who actually wants to know.

    You mean Shea to Pollitt.

    Shea still controls the County.

  9. How long before the trash cans are stolen? If they are made of copper, 1 day.

  10. I bet that the county wants the land to build a new civic center. one that can sell beer. Then they tear down the old one and make that the parking lot.

Not that they can take care of the civic center that they've got. We've been paying special surcharges for how long?
