Bet you $100 that Chief Barclay shows up on crime scene. You are not going to solve crime in a week, month, year. It is a great start give the man a chance. He is a motivator, and will get it done.
We need action now! There is no jungle that keeps out cats from running free. Even when the cost of fuel is high, we must band together to make a difference in the way they do business. When will Obama wake up and take a firm stance on these regulations?!
What time? When more info is available please post it. There are some good families over there that I know. The Church Street area has a lot of good families and people but it is the handful of thugs that give that area such a bad rap.
Here we go again? Did you really expect there to be NO crime in Salisbury this early on in having a new Chief? Its unrealistic to think that there will be a day of no crime at all in Salisbury.
I think that the chief will shut that neighborhood dwon until someone gives up the person who was the shooter. That's the kind of policing that we need. That's what Mike Lewis would do. he'd work that case until it was solved. I think the new Salisbury chief will to and he won't be too proud or stubborn to ask for help. Help is on the way!
We will not see a great reduction in crime until the mayor stops cutting the police department's budget. You are not gonna get great applicants when the pay scale is below surrounding agencies and the dept has not had a raise in 3 years and the budget gets cut back further than the year before. The new chief was the first step, now start investing in the dept and see what happens.
its just like when we all had problems getting to work, then the sun comes out and we make it. Sometimes you have to crack eggs to make an egg that you can eat- this is no different.
How dare you come on here and tell me to get on the ball. I give YOU your freedom of speech, why not everyone else. I strongly suggest you stop pushing my buttons any more or you're not going to like the end result.

NO I DISAGREE WITH YOU!!!
Yes we do need to support our police department, but we will not see a difference or reduction in crime until we run the majority of the renters out of town. This city is ran by corrupt politicians and slumlords. When you have 80% rental properties, that's right EIGHTY percent rental properties and elections controlled by slumlords you will always have crime. Jim Ireton you are a liar and a thief. Jim Ireton you are corrupt and you are a major part of the problem.
FYI - half an hour after this post went up, there was ONE SPD vehicle on Church Street, the officer was knocking on a door. The dealers were business as usual in front of the store. My neighbor, who was home last night, didn't know anything had happened. And, of course, there was nothing on the news.
We need justice here in America. Thugs own certain streets and neighborhoods. When innocent people can not walk on their own street we are no better off than Bagdad !!
Enough is enough. Where are the Black Panthers when their own keep killing and shooting one another.
You do not hear from them. They are racist who do not care about the well being of anyone but themselves. It is time to put it were it belongs. On the crimnals that live and own certain streets.
Americans of all colors and walks of life need to rally arms and run these thugs into the gutters with the rest of the rats and trash. Good people need to take back what is rightfully theirs.
Safety in thier homes, schools, on the streets. It has become more than any red blooded American can or should stand.
It is time to rise up and let out voices be heard. It is time to hold those accountable for their actions.
No more excuses. Load the pieces of dung up and ship them to Haiti to see real poverty and corruption. Lets see how long these thugs make it in a country where their is no one to prey upon.
This county is still small enough to make major changes. If we form together with local authorities to make sweeping changes. I do care about the rest of America, but it has to start somewhere why not here ?
When kids pay more respect to the color of a rag then they do their own flag we are lost.
whatever, you don't understand that the sun isn't transparent and the leaves DON'T fall in the spring. If we don't crack down on violence now, our cars will never make it off the lot! This HAS TO STOP NOW! call to action.
Please also consider that it is not entirely the police dept, funding, etc...but the judical system that needs to back up the efforts of these police officers. Check recent court briefs and determine how many criminals actually do jail time. Most get off...jail is a deterrant. If there is no one being sent to jail, that funding should be moved to support the law enforcement.
hey joe in ref to "back in berlin", sorry but when you said you give him his freedom of speach, you sounded just like those democrats who think they give us all our rights to. and you know if someone thinks they are giving you something they can surely think about taking it away! no ones gives these rights! they are ours to exercise when needed or wanted. no disrepect intended!
