For Period October-December 2009
Lewes -- The Delaware Department of Transportation's (DelDOT) Adopt-A-Highway (AAH) Program announces that Savannah Animal Hospital is the distinguished Group of the Quarter for the period of October-December 2009. This group collected 35 bags of litter over the last three months, the most of all other groups that conducted cleanups during that period. Savannah Animal Hospital volunteers clean portions of Wescoats Road and Clay Road in Lewes.
Being designated as the Group of the Quarter has its privileges. Not only does it make Delaware's roadsides cleaner, safer and healthier for everyone, the group receives public recognition. DelDOT posts a special "thank you" sign under their existing AAH sign, they are featured on DelDOT's Web site (www.deldot.gov), they receive an award certificate and their hometown newspaper is informed of their service in the community.
All of this results in promotion of the group and the people associated with the organization. And that is what AAH is all about, people making a difference in their community.
DelDOT congratulates Savannah Animal Hospital on earning the title of AAH Group of the Quarter.
