The Bank Of Delmarva in north Salisbury was robbed around 3:00 PM today. Police are just about everywhere and once again it is a white male with a black hoodie.
Joe, I can't believe there haven't been any comments written over your statement of once again it is a white male in a black hoodie. Thank God he was white because if you had reported a black man in a black hoodie 50 people would have written in calling it a racial comment.
This is the norm here now right? Is this a surprise? Sad times as alife long resident when you just except that this is the norm and it just gets worst from here.
Well I hate to say it but this felon bank robber got balls! This bank is a stones throw from the Maryland State Police Barrack on Dagsboro Road and US 13 N.
I went to the local "news" sites WBOC and WMDT. Each of them have a different picture of the suspect. If they posted it wanting possible help with recognition, they should allow you to increase the size of the picture....like sbynews does!!!! I don't view them as "news" outlets anymore because of crap like this!
The "I am on sick leave" Chiefy has his retirment supplement coming in all ready from his 'ain't no gangs in Salisbury" supplying him. The robberies took a break so he could easy out. Now they are returning to see what the new Chief will do and how quick while helping out their bud in his planned hoax of a retirement benefit.
My question is...Why do bank not have bullet proof windows inside from the floor to the ceiling with drawers like the drive thru? It may be expensive to install, but it protects the tellers and the thugs that are robbing bank can't get to the money. I would think the banks would be safer for all. And yes, you would lose that personal touch, but so what?!
White, black, whatever, if I was a retail store owner or business that has a lot of money changing hands in a day, I would make sure I had a weapon in hand whenever someone in a hoodie enters my business. It's unfortunately reached that stage with the crime in Salisbury.
How about coming up with some type of really small GPS device that could be hidden in one of the $50 packs of currency --- maybe credit-card thin? Then the police could track the guy down for at least a few days.
@9;16 - I was in a bank on the other side of the Bay where you go into a little kiosk and speak with the teller over video camera. Your deposit gets sucked up like a drive through, and they return your receipt via the same device. It was really disturbing - I much prefer dealing with somebody across a counter.
@9:48 - They already have dye packs. Thief takes the stack of notes out the door and it explodes all over them shortly thereafter. I suppose a little GPS would be more convenient, but that device needs to broadcast a strong signal in order to track a person so it would be easier to find. It's not about receiving the satellite signal and calculating a position - it's about transmitting that position to the authorities.
Sadly enough, if this guy worked for a bank and took money from the Feds, he would have gotten a bonus.
Its a community effort to make the community better. Give these people a job. It is extremely hard for men to get jobs around here with criminal backgrounds. I mean dang what is the justice system for if we are going to still hold them accountable for past actions. Oh and how do you rob a bank without brandishing a weapon? And if a weapon was exposed who is going to attempt to attack this person?
this has to be gang related or atleast more than one person, they rob one place to get the attention of the police in that location while they rob another spot down the road! 3 robberies right on RT 13, Salisbury is done, this sucks!
C'mon what difference does it make what nationality someone is when they are threatening to do bodily harm to rob you? I"ll say his - my ammo does not differentiate. My menu: 10mm, 45ACP, 44mag, 357mag, and if the need arises, .50cal. They can have it any way they want. I"m just like Burger King. Flame broiled. Come get some.
Why can't banks here work like the banks in Europe? I went there for a vacation and you had to swipe your ATM card at the door to get into the building. This ensured that only people who should be there could get in. It kind of stunk trying to get in to talk to a person since I didn't have a European bank, but I could use the ATM just fine. Would that be too costly to do here?
I know the Shore Bank on South Division Street has locked their second door so everyone has to enter through one entrance...and they can watch you walk around the building to get in. I feel bad for bank tellers and convenience store clerks around this town! I'm scared to go anywhere both day and night, and I've lived here all my life. I'm getting a big dog and a big gun!
@ 7:25 You have got to be kidding me right? Give these people a job? They can't be trusted to not rob a bank who wants to hire someone like that? There are many many people out there who have make mistakes in the their past; however, I'm sure that at present they wouldn't consider robbing a bank. The process of interviewing and background checks is a way to evaluated the likelihood or probability that they may do the same thing or something similar to a prospective employer.
Its not going to stop, take at look at the guy, he doesnt look like a thug. Just somebody with a house payment and no job. What would you do to keep a roof over your kids head.
12:07 I would work for McDonalds, Arby's. Burger King and sweep floors or what ever else it would take. I wouldn't lie cheat or steal to provide for my family.
They have someone in custody.
ReplyDeleteeveryone that works in a bank should be strapped with a rather large hand gun!
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone know of a web site that gives in one table a list of all the bank robberies in the Salisbury area in the past year?

ReplyDeleteDoes anyone know how many bank roberies have been on the eastern shore compared to other parts of the country?

ReplyDeleteI just want to say...great photography. You know, with the MEMBER FDIC flashing on the banks billboard. How ironic

ReplyDelete9:48 you may be onto something!
ReplyDeleteThe bank robbers seem to be white. The convenience store robbers seem to be black.
ReplyDelete9:48 is on to something! Have a set of wrapped bills with a GPS ready to go for a robbery.

Time for the new Chief to join SPD UP with the WBI
