APPARENT HOMICIDE VICTIM IN WICOMICO CO. IDENTIFIED
(Hebron, MD) – Police have identified the man found dead after an apparent shooting at a Wicomico County home early this morning.
The victim is identified as Preston Morehouse, 19. The victim’s body has been transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner where an autopsy will be performed.
Morehouse apparently moved to Maryland within the last two weeks and had been staying with the residents of the home where the shooting occurred. Information indicates Morehouse has previously lived in Florida and Virginia.
Shortly after 4:30 a.m. today, Maryland State Police from the Salisbury Barracks responded to a 911 call in which the caller said a shooting had occurred at a residence in the 27000-block of Ocean Gateway, Hebron, Md. Arriving troopers found the victim lying just inside the front door of the single-family home.
Maryland State Police Homicide Unit investigators are leading the investigation, with assistance from members of the Wicomico County Bureau of Investigation. No one has been arrested at this time. A description of a suspect or suspects is also not yet available.
Anyone who may have information about this crime is urged to contact Maryland State Police at the Salisbury Barracks, at 410-749-3101. The identity of callers may be kept confidential.

ReplyDeleteCrimes at bars and restaurants, the mall has it's fair share of "calls" for the police to report to, home inavasions, bank robberies. This area is bad people. Does anyone know what happened on RT 13 Northbound Friday around 3:55? My wife was heading Southbound on RT13 in front of Sam's Club and saw cops on the North bound side with guns pulled on someone out in front of Old Navy on the highway. The were behind their opened doors on their cars. Traffic was held up for a bit. I haven't seen any report of this on here nor the other media. It is time to "VOTE TO TOTE", fid someone that supports guns and vote for him/her. These days I would rather be caught with a gun than without!
ReplyDeleteoh yes because guns solve everything and everyones problems
ReplyDeleteIsn't this the house where Rudy Cane used to live?
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately an innocent citizen with no criminal record, a pillar in the community, 40 years of safe weapons handling, 5 years law enforcement experience and certified by the state of Maryland as an "Expert Marksman" (including special advanced FBI weapons training) and more rounds fired annually to stay sharp I am not considered a candidate for Maryland's Permit for Concealed Carry PERIOD. I've tried and simply have never been a victim of serious crime presenting an ongoing threat or transfer large sums of cash to my local bank. As a matter of fact if I chose to carry anyway and was caught I'd get more time than our local bank robbers because I certainly should know better.
ReplyDeleteMaybe because thats all they have got.
ReplyDeleteHow can someone be shot at 4:30 a.m. in the front door of the home their staying in. Sounds fishey to me. Drug deal gone wrong? Hummm.....
ReplyDeleteNo one said the guy was shot in the front door. They said he was found there.
ReplyDeleteWait for more information. It could have been a drug situation that followed him here, one already here, or a guest in the wrong place at the wrong time when a home invader came to call.
It sounds like something or someone followed the poor fella here.I hope they can find the shooter, unofrtunately they had a quick getaway with 50 being a major highway.
ReplyDeleteIt is next door to Rudy's Cane's house.

ReplyDeleteThis is not Rudy Caine's house ,but its right accross from the Spring Hill Cemetary and the the church.sits on a piece of high land and has a boat for sale in the yard beside the house.Nice place.
with everybody trying guess for reasons to justify such a horrific crime, my guess would be, a mistaken identity.

ReplyDeleteA dishonorable discharge from the military would bar you from a permit also.
As would mental health treatment, alcoholism, suicide attempts, etc.
Law makers are not realistic. They are knee jerk reactionaries that think they can win votes and keep people safe by passing laws that allows virtually no one (in their minds) to carry weapons.
They fail to realize that criminals do not follow their laws.
But we are made to be criminals by protecting ourselves.
So be it.
I would rather take my chances in court with a firearm charge than take my chances in the hospital after being a victim of someone who does carry a weapon.
Little ironic also is the fact we are easier targets for this type of law enforcement.
Produces good headlines and makes it look like they are 'fighting crime', but reality shows otherwise.
why is it that every time there is a tragic event, people are so quick to blame the police of a conspiracy!? these are the people you call to HELP you when something bad happens. They don't want crime in our neighborhoods just as much as we don't want it there. People are so negative.
ReplyDeleteThere was a shooting. It doesn't automatically mean that this kid was a bad guy involved with drugs.
Is every person who is murdered, a drug dealer?
WOW people, a young man's life was taken.
you ask why people are so quick to blame the police, look at who we have to police the streets!
ReplyDeleteNormally when i'm driving in town, and i see 3 police vehicles all stopped behind the pulled over vehicle...i always think to myself, I bet that guy was pulled over for speeding. LoL
Well this was one of my close friends that i knew since da 7th grade and you people saying that he had to be a drug dealer or watever you need to know your facts before jumping to conclusions! He had trouble in the past but he changed his life around to a better person. So people if you dont know something about somebody don't go jumping to conclusions like that because that just makes you ignorant!
ReplyDeleteWho are you people to judge someone you have never met? You all make me sick to my stomach. Thats the problem with society today, everyone is miserable with there own lives so they jump on the first chance to knock someones down. A young man died and none of you know why so you think of the first bad thing that pops into your head. This poor boy had a family that is reading this. What if that was your brother, son, nephew, or friend? How would you feel if you were reading this and you knew that none of it was true but all these strangers were putting there small minded idiotic two cents in? His haircut is ''thuggish''? what is that supposed to mean? Who are y'all to stereotype someone you have never met. Why don't you judgmental people worry about your own lives and future and not bash a BOY that isn't here to defend himself. Its immature and sad and i feel sorry for all of you that have nothing better to do with your time then judge people. I hope his murderer is found and his family can move on and remember the special good person that im sure he was.
ReplyDeletePreston was a great, and loving cousin. Someone please give info to the anonomous tipline. Rest in Peace Preston
ReplyDeletepreston;he wanted to go wearing bright colours and listening to loud music, so tonight we all did it. we feel his touch everytime we speak of him, he was great! him dying, is unexpplainable...who ever is responsible for thi, has something coming cause none of us are moving on until we find whoever the sick person is that did it.
ReplyDeletelike honestly i do not understand at all how you could feel anyway to "kill" someone...i, well al of us, are speechless. love you preston! <3
There was NOTHING innocent about this kid. I knew him from 9th grade when he got a group of kids to watch as he beat another kid. Why do you think he moved around so much? Running from all the trouble he's caused in life!
