Anti-Gun Senator Shoots Intruder

Long time Anti-Gun Advocate State Senator R.C. Soles, 74, shot one of two intruders at his home just outside Tabor City, N.C. about 5 p.m. Sunday, the prosecutor for the politician's home county said. The victim, Kyle Blackburn, was taken to a South Carolina hospital, but the injuries were not reported to be life-threatening, according to Rex Gore, district attorney for Columbus, Bladen andBrunswick counties..The State Bureau of Investigation and Columbus County Sheriff's Department are investigating the shooting, Gore said.

Soles, who was not arrested, declined to discuss the incident Sunday evening. "I am not in a position to talk to you," Soles said by telephone. "I'm right in the middle of an investigation." The Senator, who has made a career of being against gun ownership for the general public, didn't hesitate to defend himself with his own gun when he believed he was in immediate danger and he was the victim. In typical hypocritical liberal fashion, the "Do As I Say And Not As I Do" Anti-Gun Activist Lawmaker picked up his gun and took action in what apparently was a self-defense shooting.

Why hypocritical you may ask? It is because his long legislative record shows that the actions that he took to protect his family, his own response to a dangerous life threatening situation, are actions that he feels ordinary citizens should not have if they were faced with an identical situation. It has prompted some to ask if the Senator believes his life and personal safety is more valuable than yours or mine. But, this is to be expected from those who believe they can run our lives, raise our kids, and protect our families better than we can.

  1. The Democrats think they are always exempt. They have this idea that they can think better for us than we can.

  2. We can replace the word "Democrats" with the word "Politicians" and you would be accurate also, 8:51. We had all better get a grip with the reality that both parties are pulling us apart as a nation and as a people. Although our ideologies may differ we are Americans first and foremost. We shouldn't be so foolish as to let parties and their leaders lead us by a nose ring. Our politicians are currently beholden to their parties NOT their constituents as intended by the founders. People had better wake up and stop be sheeple. And I am a republican.

  3. But look who has labeled this guy as "anti-gun". Gun rights are not always a black and white issue. What is his voting record? He may simply have voted to make sure that people have proper licenses and the feds keep the mentally ill from owning weapons. Does that constitute being "anti-gun". I'm just curious to what his true stance is before I consider the man to be a hypocrite.

  4. And if everyone had guns taken away, none of us would ever be in that situation.

  5. 9:55, you can only take a firearm away from a law abiding citizen. at that point only the criminals will be armed. and the rest of us will be out of luck.

  6. 10:25 I agree. I believe in common sense gun laws but the ultralib anti-gun crowd fails to see that the criminals obviously don't give a damn about any legislation they pass.

  7. 9:55, what other constitutional rights are you willing to give up? Your comment is rediculous!

  8. What part of "shall not be infringed" are you having problems with, 9:55. People like you are the reason we have our rights stepped all over - a little at a time.

  9. Take this right away and then where do you draw the line??

  10. Thanks for exposing this hypocrite Joe! Case in point that we law abiding citizens need to have the right to bear arms to protect ourselves, including the democrats! If more homeowners would own guns for personal protection it would deter more crime! Criminals will find illegal ways to get guns. Law abiding citizens who do not have criminal records and no severe mental illness should be able to protect ourselves!
