Andy Harris For Congress 2010
ANNAPOLIS--State Senator Andy Harris, M.D., yesterday formally announced his candidacy for Maryland's First Congressional District. Harris said his campaign will emphasize the need for good-paying jobs, a strong economy, ending Washington's wasteful spending, and protecting American citizens and values. Harris made the announcement at four campaign stops throughout the district that drew several hundred supporters.
"I entered public life because my parents instilled in me the honor of serving," Harris said. "I have made improving our communities my life's work, as a doctor, as a Navy Medical Corps veteran, and as an elected official in Annapolis. I now want to serve the citizens of Maryland's First District in Congress and will work hard every day to be their next representative in Washington."
Harris continued, "The citizens of the First District want to find and keep good-paying jobs while providing a good future for our children and grandchildren. We want to protect the way of life that made the district a wonderful place to live, raise a family, and earn a living. What we do not want is our member of Congress to be one person at home and another person in Washington. We do not want huge tax hikes put on us from Washington to pay for a government that is out of control. We do not want to write the checks for political payoffs and far-left policies. We want our doctors and patients to make our health care decisions, not Washington bureaucrats with no medical experience. We want our government to protect us from those that seek to destroy us, our way of life and the American values that we treasure. We want our elected officials to vote according to their constituents, not their party bosses. That is why we need a new Congressman and why I will work every day to earn the votes of the great citizens of Maryland's First District so that we can get our nation back on the right track and on the road to prosperity."
Dr. Harris has a distinguished record as a three-term State Senator in Annapolis fighting for fiscal responsibility and strengthening Maryland’s families by promoting job creation, smaller government, and the need for tax relief, not increased burdens on Maryland taxpayers. Harris resides in Maryland’s First Congressional District with homes in Cockeysville and Cambridge that he shares with his wife and five children. He is a practicing obstetric anesthesiologist, with an appointment at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine as an Associate Professor of Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine, as well as practicing at Easton Memorial Hospital and Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury. He served our country in the United States Naval Reserve for 17 years, achieving the rank of Commander, and is a member of the American Legion.

Editors Note: It cracked me up yesterday, (top photo) when Congressional Candidate Andy Harris held up a brochure from Frank Kratovil, (paid for by taxpayers) mailed out by the tens of thousands stating, "Working to cut taxes and fight wasteful spending." I thought I was going to fall on the floor laughing. An in depth interview with Andy Harris can be seen on this week's "Joe Albero Show" a special 1 hour long broadcast.
To emphasize is one thing, but to have a plan to create better paying jobs and a strong economy is another. I would like to see his plan on how he is going to make it happen. I will do some digging to see just how he plans on making this happen. Don't get me wrong, but it seems everyone in government is all talk and no action.
ReplyDeleteI'm also ready to see what plans he has and how he matches up with Kratovil this time around. I voted for Obama and Kratovil but I am an Independent so I am interested in seeing how each sides views stack up.
ReplyDeleteAs far as the editor's note; cut the crap. Conservative congressional offices send out the same kind of flyers.
I know one thing, this man has always been a very strong supporter of small businesses, which the current state and federal govt are trying very hard to make them an extinct species. Big fat stimulus gov $$$ should solve everything right? WRONG! throw all those damned rascals out of office and replace them with those who Know what made our economy and our country great, innovative and hardworking men and women. So you go Mr. Harris, you've got my family's vote.

ReplyDeleteAndy's plan will be forthcoming, he knows that the answer is more good paying jobs in the manufacturing sector, not more government jobs that actually create a drag on the economy.
PS-- If Andy DOESN'T come out with a specific plan then I'll be one of the ones complaining loudly
Anything would be an improvement over Kratovil.
ReplyDeleteAndy Harris being a conservative puts him way ahead.
Shrinking government spending is not on Kratovil's agenda.
I am glad to see Mr. Harris promote small business in Maryland. The owners of East Coast Iron are great men. Matt & Mike were featured in a magazine not long ago to promote their business. If you need any type of steel work done, those are the men to call!
ReplyDeleteYou go Andy.
ReplyDeleteAll Harris has to do is pledge to stop the crazy out of control spending and he will have my vote. Everything else will take care of itself.
ReplyDeleteI second 4:42's comment about East Coast Iron. Thoes guys know what they are doing. They do a very detailed and professional job. Excellent workmanship. If you ever need anything done they are the guys to call for metal work.
ReplyDeleteThose guys put railings on our home and they are flawless. Highly recomended
ReplyDeleteIf Harris is elected, he'll send out mailers to his constituents like that, too. It's part of letting the voters know what you're doing to represent them. It's a silly point for him to make. As for the rest of it, I just hear rhetoric, with no actual ideas or plans.
ReplyDeleteanonymous 8:20, once a wet pants liberal, always a wet pants liberal. Perhaps YOU didn't read what was stated. Kratovil said he was going to STOP wasteful spending. Funny, Harris hasn't even been voted in yet, you have NO history of him doing such, yet you want to claim you know him SO WELL that you know for sure that he's do the exact same thing. What an anonymous Idiot. Or should I just say, wet pants liberal.
