She Shows She's True Blue..

The Republican establishment was behind her 100%.

Even Newt Gingrich endorsed her.

But after dropping out of the Congressional race yesterday for New York's 23rd District, Republican Dede Scozzafava has since endorsed the Democrat in the race for the upstate New York seat.

In the fight over Republican support for her candidacy over Conservative candidate Doug Hoffman, who also sought the Republican nomination, there was speculation that Scozzafava could end up switching parties after being elected as a Republican.Nevertheless, the Republican establishment ignored Hoffman and insisted on Scozzafava as their candidate.

Now we see where she really stands.

The big boys have now voiced their support for Hoffman, but only after their girl left them in the lurch.

Will they ever get it??

Commercial Lending Giant CIT Files Bankruptcy

Government to likely lose $2.3 billion it spent to prop company up last year

NEW YORK - Lender CIT Group has filed for bankruptcy protection, in an effort to restructure its debt while trying to keep loans flowing to the thousands of mid-sized and small businesses.

CIT made the filing in New York bankruptcy court Sunday, after a debt-exchange offer to bondholders failed. CIT said in a statement that its bondholders have overwhelmingly approved a prepackaged reorganization plan which will reduce total debt by $10 billion while allowing the company to continue to do business.

"The decision to proceed with our plan of reorganization will allow CIT to continue to provide funding to our small business and middle market customers, two sectors that remain vitally important to the U.S. economy," said Jeffrey M. Peek, chairman and CEO. Peek has said he plans to step down at the end of the year.

Who The HELL Do They Think They Are!!!

I posted about the "Grassfire" petitions and faxes to both the House and Senate members demanding that they stop the socialization of this country via the "health care" bill(s). Rather than just faxing Grassfire was hand delivering these petitions and faxes, both for impact and to assure that the materials could not be ignored. This morning word is out that the deliverers have been barred from entering the House and Senate office buildings. They will not accept the petitions and letters from the people claiming that there are Anthrax concerns. Dozens of volunteers with arm loads of letters and petitions were strongly denied access.

This is the first time access to our legislators has been denied. Hand delivery has been accepted even through the Obama administration, until now. At this point we have been denied access to out Senators and Representatives under a sudden pretense of fear of anthrax..

I also posted that Representative Michele Bauchman (R-MN) is calling for us to assemble on the Capital steps on Thursday at noon to participate an actual confrontation of our legistators.. This is short notice. With this denial of access I am scrambling to try to come up with funds to get to DC for that assembly. This may be a true storming of the Capital.

It Ain't Over Till It's Over

Capitol Hill Republicans, hammered repeatedly by the Democratic majority for nitpicking President Obama's health care overhaul but supposedly not offering an alternative, say they're keeping their cards close to the vest until the endgame on the House floor.

Republican officials say they won't show their hand until House Speaker Nancy Pelosi reveals the procedural rules Democrats will impose to control the amendment process and floor debate next week on the Democrats' nearly 2,000-page health bill.

"They know that their plan isn't popular, so their strategy is to go out and demonize us," said House Minority Leader John A. Boehner, Ohio Republican. "We've had plans out there for six months."

Republicans this year introduced more than 50 health bills, including measures to reform medical-malpractice law, increase competition among insurers by allowing consumers to buy coverage across state lines, and provide tax credits to offset insurance premiums and other medical expenses.

None of the bills saw the light of day in the House and none likely will get a chance to be incorporated as an amendment to the Democrats' health bill, which is slated to go to a vote in the House as early as Thursday.

Republicans insist they do have a comprehensive plan, but are waiting to make it public, though Mr. Boehner said Friday on Fox News that consumers would be better off if Congress killed the Democrats' bill and then used a "step-by-step approach" to pass eight or nine separate bills to retool health care.

House Majority Leader Steny H. Hoyer has signaled that few, if any, amendments to the mammoth health bill will be allowed before a final vote on the bill.

The Maryland Democrat did invite Republicans to offer a substitute bill for an up or down vote to replace the entire Democratic package, provided the substitute's price tag is scored by the Congressional Budget Office and members have 72 hours to read the legislation, the same process followed for the majority's bill.

Fox News, Sunday Night 9:00 PM: Fox To Go After Obama

FORGET BEING DEMOCRAT or REPUBLICAN

Maybe this is why the White House has been discounting FOX

Sounds like this could be History in the making - - I feel someone is going to go down - - either Obama or Fox News

It may be that Fox has been holding this information back due to the sensitivity of it and out of courtesy. But, Obama has taken on Fox and it appears they are ready to spill the ugly beans of truth about the background of this individual who has had an extremely radical past.

I'm not going to miss it and I hope you won't either. This should prove interesting!!

Subject: This Sunday at 8:00 pm central 9:00 pm eastern

This Sunday Fox news, is going to air a very important documentary about Barack Obama, Sunday night at 9 P M Eastern.

The report will go back to Obama's earlier days, showing even then his close ties to radical Marxist professors, friends, spiritual advisers, etc. It will also reveal details about his ties to Rev. Wright for +20 years i.e. how he was participating with this man, and not for the reasons he states!

The report has uncovered more of Obama's radical past and we will see things that no one in the media is willing to put out there. It will be a segment to remember.
Mark your calendar and pass this on to everyone you know: Sunday night, 8 P M . CT ; 9 P M ET. Democrat or Republican, this report will open your eyes to how YOUR country is being sold down the road to Totalitarian Socialism. If you care about the direction of our country, pass this notice on to everyone you know...

Meet Harry

Last night my Wife and I stopped by a friends house who adopted two kittens from us about a year ago. While we were talking, a very interesting topic came up and my Wife never ceases to amaze me.

We were talking about how sociable cats have become over time. Jennifer mentioned how so many of the less sociable cats ultimately get put down, euthanized. While there are millions upon millions of cats that end up at local Humane Society's and rescue centers, usually when people go in to view them they fall for the quiet and more laid back, I want to be held and loved cats.

What this means is, as time goes on, the more frisky and aggressive cats are being deleted from our population and the tame/quiet/loving ones have now taken over.

A few weeks ago we adopted two kittens from the Wicomico Humane Society, (Harry, above) is one of them. Now I was never really much of a cat person but I have to tell you, these guys are an absolute blast! They're destroying my Office and every single piece of organized paper is now spread all over the place daily but what the heck, they're worth the 5 minutes per day to rearrange. I try to outsmart them by figuring ways they can't do it again but I seem to fail at this as they just want to constantly play.

Pretty soon my Office will consist of a desk with absolutely nothing on it but a mouse, keyboard and monitor. So if I seem lost in some articles, it's because I can't find my notes. Nevertheless, visit your local Humane Society and get some of these pain in the A$$E$. They're easy to care for and very inexpensive to feed. In the end, one thing is for sure. The cats today are far more friendly and sociable than the ones I remember growing up.

Stimulus: The Good News, And The Bad

If this is the best a stimulus can do, we're in real trouble, says BusinessWeek's Peter Coy. Much more federal help may be needed to spark a real recovery

New figures released by the White House on Oct. 30 add to evidence that the federal economic stimulus package is working to create and save jobs. Unfortunately, that's not altogether good news.

Why not? Think about it: If the stimulus is working, and the job market is extremely weak in spite of it, what will happen when the stimulus begins to fade sometime next year? Many economists are increasingly worried that the U.S. recovery will be agonizingly gradual, especially if it doesn't get another jolt of help. "I think it makes sense to look at more aid from the federal government, whether they call it stimulus or not," says Gus Faucher, director of macroeconomics at Moody's Economy.com, a West Chester (Pa.) consultant.

The White House report said $160 billion worth of the stimulus funds spent so far—out of the $787 billion total in the stimulus plan—have "created or saved 640,329 direct jobs" through the end of September. The almost comically precise number is based on reports by recipients of stimulus funds. The White House says the actual number of jobs saved or created is greater than that—probably more than 1 million—because the $160 billion measured represented only about half the money spent so far, and because people who are hired with stimulus funds tend to spend their pay and create secondary employment.

To back up its claims, the White House also released a white paper showing that independent economists estimate that the stimulus package has created or saved anywhere from 620,000 to 1.5 million jobs through the third quarter. Those numbers figure in all of the stimulus spending to date as well as secondary employment, which is fair.

Consumer Spending Tumbles, Incomes Flat

Cash for Clunkers, spending falls by the largest amount in 9 months

WASHINGTON
- Consumer spending plunged in September by the largest amount in nine months, reflecting the end of the government's Cash for Clunkers auto sales program. Incomes, the fuel for future spending, were flat.

While the government reported that the overall economy grew in the July-September period, signaling the end of the worst recession in seven decades, the weakness in spending and incomes as the quarter ended underscores the fragility of the recovery.

On Wall Street, investors pulled back and stocks erased all the previous day's big gains. The Dow Jones industrial average dropped about 235 points in afternoon trading, and broader indexes also plunged. The biggest declines were among banks, energy and materials companies.

Steele Casts Elections As Vote On His Leadership

In wake of gaffes, RNC chairman predicts a GOP comeback on Tuesday

As they campaigned together across Virginia on Thursday and Friday, Republican National Committee Chairman Michael S. Steele praised Robert F. McDonnell, the state's GOP gubernatorial candidate, as an innovative leader.

McDonnell was just as enthusiastic.

"Thank you to my largest donor, Michael Steele," he told a crowd outside a train depot in Culpeper on Friday, referring to the millions that the RNC has poured into the contest. And seeming to realize the potential double meaning of his words as Steele's 6-foot-4 frame towered over everyone, McDonnell joked, "And also my tallest."

Pathetic Foreign Policy In Support Of Tyrants - Whose Side Are We On?

Democracy: Daniel Ortega muscled Nicaragua's courts to permit his permanent re-election, effectively making him dictator. He's not alone. After the U.S.' shabby treatment of tiny Honduras, a new wave of tyrants is rising.

'Nothing can stop me from re-election," crowed Ortega, a man Ronald Reagan once called "the little dictator." Last Monday Nicaragua's Supreme Court issued a ruling permitting the Marxist Ortega to run for a second term after he and a group of allied mayors petitioned them, overruling a one-term limit in the constitution. Same old Ortega: His dictatorial hunger hasn't changed.

But one thing is different: U.S. actions since the Honduran crisis that have only emboldened him. Last June 28, Honduras' Supreme Court ruled that then-President Manuel Zelaya's bid to hold a reelection referendum was unconstitutional and subject to the sanctions of Honduras' 1982 constitution: removal from office.

Out he went, but the U.S. cried foul, shortly after Zelaya's patron in Caracas, Venezuela's Hugo Chavez, yelled "military coup." Unlike Chavez, whose means of striking at Honduras were threats and mayhem — such as sneaking Zelaya back to Tegucigalpa to whip up mobs — the Obama administration was in a position to inflict long-term punishment on the Hondurans.

Over the past four months it has: pulled visas to impede business travel, humiliated leaders, kicked out Honduran diplomats from the U.S., cut off $30 million in economic and military aid, and threatened to not recognize Honduras' Nov. 29 election.

These acts have harmed the economic climate and cost Honduras $200 million in lost business. Most significantly, they've put Honduras on the spot, creating the perception of "crisis" even as Ortega next door creates a real dictatorship. Sure, the State Department says it's "concerned" about the latter. But we don't see any OAS missions or "peace talk" initiatives coming of it.

It's based on an utter misreading of what's threatening Latin America. No, it's not military coups — which went out of style in the 1970s. It's dictators in democracy's clothing. Would-be tyrants use democratic institutions to gut separations of powers and end checks and balances, leaving just an institutional shell of a country with a democratic label. Venezuela's Chavez is its epitome.

Ortega was next, shifting his tactics from the days when he shot his way to power for his last dictatorship, but his goal is the same.

Some may ask what's wrong with this. In Ortega's case it's that the mayors who stood at his side at the court were mayors at all only because of elections that even the State Department called fraudulent. That gives a whiff of the integrity of the widely detested Ortega's coming re-elections now that he can hold them repeatedly.

Fall Back: Time Change Is This Weekend

EQUAL OPPORTUNITY

I am one of those ignorant Conservatives that can not understand the Liberal mindset. It appears, to me, that the Liberal view of equality, is to bring everyone down to the lowest common denominator. No charter or magnet schools to help the brightest, hard working, students to a better education. It is evidently better to keep them mixed with students that are either not motivated or not capable of advanced education. Teachers must base the curriculum to the slowest student, ignoring those who want to learn more.

Unions are another puzzle. Everyone is equal. The harder or better workers can not be rewarded, but must have the same compensation. Unions fight hard to save the jobs of the worst workers, but I have never heard of a battle to reward the best worker. Being wealthy, with the exception of rich Democrats, is a horrible thing. ( I learned of tax loopholes by following the investments of rich Democrats) Those earning over $250,000 are terrible people and they must be penalized for their success.

Greed is bad when a conservative businessman makes an exorbitant amount of money. However, when a Liberal contributor makes a bundle that is not greed, but a reward for good work. (check out Warren Buffets' $5 billion investment in Goldman Sachs) Hollywood stars, making millions, are heroes because they support Liberal causes. The few that are Conservatives are reviled. When a Liberal politician gets caught with their hand in the cookie jar, it's just a common mistake. Should that politician be conservative, then crucify that crook.

I'm just too stupid in believing hard work should be rewarded. I have the crazy idea that a hand up is better than a hand out. How nuts is it to think crime is crime, not matter who commits it. The most ignorant of all my ideas is, " You can't make poor people rich by making rich people poor."

Rock Of Gibraltar Airport

The Rock of Gibraltar (also called the Pillar of Hercules or by its Latin name, Calpe) is a monolithic limestone promontory located in Gibraltar, ...off the southwestern tip of Europe on the Iberian Peninsula.

But, did you know this! The Gibraltar Airport runway has an intersection with a busy highway.

Yes! that's right, the runway and highway are at the same level and cross each other at a vehicular traffic crossings.

Take a look.

WOMEN WHO KNOW THEIR PLACE

Barbara Walters, of 20/20, did a story on gender roles in Kabul , Afghanistan ,
several years before the Afghan conflict.
She noted that women customarily walked five paces behind their husbands.

She recently returned to Kabul and observed that women still walk behind their husbands.
Despite the overthrow of the oppressive Taliban regime, the women now seem to,
and are happy to, maintain the old custom.

Ms. Walters approached one of the Afghani women and asked,
'Why do you now seem happy with an old custom that you once tried so desperately to change?'

The woman looked Ms. Walters straight in the eyes, and without hesitation said, 'Land Mines'.

Moral of the story:

No matter what language you speak or where you go, BEHIND EVERY MAN THERE'S A SMART WOMAN!

1909

THE YEAR 1909

This will boggle your mind, I know it did mine!
The year is 1909.
One hundred years ago.
What a difference a century makes!
Here are some statistics for the Year 1909:

*******************************************

The average life expectancy was 47 years.

Only 14 percent of the homes had a bathtub.

Only 8 percent of the homes had a telephone.

There were only 8,000 cars and only 144 miles of paved roads.

The maximum speed limit in most cities was 10 mph.

The tallest structure in the world was the Eiffel Tower !

The average wage in 1909 was 22 cents per hour.

The average worker made between $200 and $400 per year.

A competent accountant could expect to earn $2000 per year, a dentist $2,500 per year, a veterinarian between $1,500 and $4,000 per year, and a mechanical engineer about $5,000 per year.

More than 95 percent of all births took place at HOME.

Ninety percent of all doctors had NO COLLEGE EDUCATION!

Instead, they attended so-called medical schools, many of which

were condemned in the press AND the government as 'substandard.'

Sugar cost four cents a pound.

Eggs were fourteen cents a dozen.

Coffee was fifteen cents a pound.

Most women only washed their hair once a month, and used Borax or egg yolks for shampoo.

Canada passed a law that prohibited poor people from entering into their country for any reason.

Five leading causes of death were:

1. Pneumonia and influenza
2. Tuberculosis
3. Diarrhea
4. Heart disease
5. Stroke

The American flag had 45 stars.

The population of Las Vegas, Nevada was only 30!!!

Crossword puzzles, canned beer, and ice tea hadn't been invented yet.

There was no Mother's Day or Fathers' day.

Two out of every 10 adults couldn't read or write.

Only 6 percent of all Americans had graduated from high school.

Marijuana, heroin, and morphine were all available over the counter at the local corner drugstores. Back then pharmacists said, 'Heroin clears the complexion, gives buoyancy to the mind, regulates the stomach and bowels, and is, in fact, a perfect guardian of health.'

(Shocking? DUH!)

Eighteen percent of households had at least one full-time servant of domestic help.

There were about 230 reported murders in the ENTIRE! U.S.A.!

I am now going to forward this to someone else without typing it myself.
From there, it will be sent to others all over the WORLD - all in a matter of seconds!

Try to imagine what it may be like in another 100 years.

If George Bush Was An Idiot. . .

If George W. Bush had been the first President to need a teleprompter installed to be able to get through a press conference, would you have laughed and said this is more proof of how he inept he is on his own and is really controlled by smarter men behind the scenes?

If George W. Bush had spent hundreds of thousands of dollars to take Laura Bush to a play in NYC, would you have approved?

If George W. Bush had reduced your retirement plan's holdings of GM stock by 90% and given the unions a majority stake in GM, would you have approved?

If George W. Bush had made a joke at the expense of the Special Olympics, would you have approved?

If George W. Bush had given Gordon Brown a set of inexpensive and incorrectly formatted DVDs, when Gordon Brown had given him a thoughtful and historically significant gift, would you have approved?

If George W. Bush had given the Queen of England an iPod containing videos of his speeches, would you have thought this embarrassingly narcissistic and tacky?

If George W. Bush had bowed to the King of Saudi Arabia , would you have approved?

If George W. Bush had visited Austria and made reference to the non-existent "Austrian language," would you have brushed it off as a minor slip?

If George W. Bush had filled his cabinet and circle of advisers with people who cannot seem to keep current in their income taxes, would you have approved?

If George W. Bush had been so Spanish illiterate as to refer to "Cinco de Cuatro" in front of the Mexican ambassador when it was the 5th of May (Cinco de Mayo), and continued to flub it when he tried again, would you have winced in embarrassment?

If George W. Bush had mis-spelled the word "advice" would you have hammered him for it for years like Dan Quayle and potatoe as proof of what a dunce he is?

If George W. Bush had burned 9,000 gallons of jet fuel to go plant a single tree on Earth Day, would you have concluded he's a hypocrite?

If George W. Bush's administration had okayed Air Force One flying low over millions of people followed by a jet fighter in downtown Manhattan causing widespread panic, would you have wondered whether they actually get what happened on 9-11?

If George W. Bush had failed to send relief aid to flood victims throughout the Midwest with more people killed or made homeless than in New Orleans, would you want it made into a major ongoing political issue with claims of racism and incompetence?

If George W. Bush had created the position of 32 Czars who report directly to him, bypassing the House and Senate on much of what is happening in America, would you have approved.

If George W. Bush had ordered the firing of the CEO of a major corporation, even though he had no constitutional authority to do so, would you have approved?

If George W Bush had proposed to double the national debt, which had taken more than two centuries to accumulate, in one year, would you have approved?

If George W. Bush had then proposed to double the debt again within 10 years, would you have approved?

So, tell me again, what is it about Obama that makes him so brilliant and impressive? Can't think of anything? Don't worry. He's done all this in 5 months -- so you'll have three years and seven months to come up with an answer.
